She seems to think they didn't pay but your point is,  they did.
The situation's been passed onto the Manager of the shopping centre now, that was Monday and i still haven't got an email from the manager. I've just sent an email to prompt them. If it's not sorted in the next couple of days i'm gonna have to give up and go straight to POPLA.

I emailed my MP a while ago and i haven't got a reply, which isn't surprise, it would most likely take while for him to get back to me.

You don't have to try POPLA.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I thought that, but if the mall isn't willing to settle the PCN would it then just be left in the hands of our MP?

    Yes.

And ultimately small claims which is ten times better than POPLA.  No risk (you know that from the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread)

The risk being with POPLA, is that once you appeal you're unable to settle the situation with the landowner or MP?

Yes.  Usually makes a PPC dig their heels in.  Not doing POPLA gives you better leverage as there's no argument that the PPC has spent more than a fiver...

Do GroupNexus usually resort to a court summons like they threaten to do? The only thing i'm wondering about is if i leave the POPLA appeal and try to get it settled with the landowner / MP, if within the time waiting my parents will get a court summons.

You don't get a "summons". This is not a criminal matter. It is a civil matter in the county court. You would receive a county court claim and you would defend it based on the advice in the Newbies/FAQ thread.

And if that happens, a few months later, DCB Legal will discontinue!  Easy peasy if you get a claim.  Easier than POPLA.

No risk. No cost. No hearing. All over!
