TSB account declined

That's not very strange, TSB tend to use TransUnion for hard searches, at least for current account applications. When I opened mine, I had a soft search on Experian, nothing on Equifax and a hard search on TransUnion. Different banks use different CRAs, and it is common to see a hard search at one or two and soft searches at the others. Soft search may be used for a provisional decision, with a follow-up hard search done a day or two later. Some offers are made provisionally while checks are completed in the background.NorwichMan said:Strangely, whilst there are two soft searches from TSB now showing, there is no hard search on my files from any of the CRAs.

I have the Experian identity alert thing - again I don't and wouldn't pay for this, it was given as a result of a hack affecting one of my service providers. In fact another one has also recently offered the same for the same reason. It confirmed that TSB did a hard search on me when I applied for an account yesterday (but nothing when I applied for a second a few minutes later, as expected).0

Thanks - no searches from TSB showing on either TransUnion or Equifax as of today but maybe they will show up at some point. Thought I might have got away without a new hard search for a declined application.masonic said:
