  • I get the online quote from Blackcircles so I know the expected price, then go to a local tyre shop and they're always cheaper.

Ive just bought 3 tyres from ASDA (they were the cheapest). However its just occurred to me that you usually fit tyres in pairs?
I didn’t. At £350 a tyre the other one has loads of life left and would’ve been a waste of money. I guess it depends on condition.

Local tyre companies will often price match deals found online, always worth asking.

I use blackcircles.com, chose and pay for your tyre online, have it fitted at a local fitter.
Another vote for BlackCircles.  Saved me an around £150 to £200 on two tyres compared to what the local outlets were quoting.

Just drove the car round to the fitter i'd picked and they fitted and balanced them.

Worth noting they will fit and balance whereas some online tyre suppliers dont, so you've then to get your tyres to a fitter and hope hes not going to rob you too much to fit them.

it will very much depend on the tyre.

Local fitters can usually easily match standard tyres for standard cars.  Odd ball sizes though they wont be able to.

My local suppliers are easily +£100 a corner more expensive that Black Circles.

I go to the local tyre shop that the online companies use.  That way I can discuss the options with the person behind the counter, and pick the best deal.  Then I go back the next day to have them fitted.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

If its a regular tyre for a regular car thats as good a way as any.

And if its a trusted local company, they'll know their stuff.

Once you get in to odd ball profiles the local guys cant compete with the buying power of the online companies.

I "think" Black Circles have some affiliation with Michelin, so their deals on them are always sharp - which works for me as its usually my preferred tyre.

Yes, Blackcircles were bought by Michelin in 2015: https://www.michelin.com/en/press-releases/michelin-buys-blackcircles-com-for-50-million-2/#:~:text=Michelin today announced the acquisition, sum of £50 million.

The last pair were Blackcircle for me, which ended up about £15 a tyre cheaper than the place that fit them were selling for. The 2 before that I got from Kwik Fit, fitted at home (during one of the lockdown/restricted periods). I htink they were on a deal if you bought 2. I found their home tyre service pretty good, much nicer experience than calling into one of their stores.  I've also used the Halfords on your drive thingamy for a relatives car, and that was pretty good and competitive.

My local tyre shop is cheaper than the online ones. Maybe it's just my tyre sizes but worth shopping around, find where the
    Taxi drivers go.
