Best place to get tyres from?
Hi,
I need to replace a couple of tyres on my car. I dont want to get teh cheapest of the cheap as I assume thats a false economy. But I dont want/need to get very expensive tyres as I just have a beaten-up old car.
So what would be the best place to get tyres. I assume taking it to my local garage would be the most expensive option? I certainly wouldnt take it to Kwik Fit (bad experience with them in the past)
Any recommendations or tips would be great.
Thanks

I use blackcircles.com, chose and pay for your tyre online, have it fitted at a local fitter.2

If there is a local independent tyre place it is worth checking out their prices. My garage recommended such a place and I have used them a lot over the years.Sometimes you will see offers online for places like National Tyres which might be worth investigating.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

There are a number of websites that search across different suppliers for tyres.
The most popular one is Blackcircles although last time around I used Asda tyres and ended up with a £20 voucher to use in the store. Another is Tyreshopper.
You can select from a range of fitters to suit you and pick a time for fitting. In my case Asda had a range of fitters and I selected my local Formula1 store.
Make sure you have the precise details of your tyres to hand as simply entering your registration number isn't a guarantee that the website will select the correct tyre to match others on your car.

I normally end up using Halfords, Protyre or Formula1 Autocentres. I don't get the cheapest tyres, I compare the ones I want and normally with discount codes one of them work out the cheapest.
I do check Black Circles aswellFTB - April 20201 -
Blackcircles and a local tyre fitter are hard to beat.Mortgage free

First I would find the Tyres you need ie 215/55/16 V.Then decide if you want A,B,C etc for fuel and A,B,C wet rated.Once you have picked B,B or A,B for eg, choose the brand and then look for who has the best price.Costco do quality tyres at a good price if you have membership. All the others above, Tyre shopper are National tyres ( well thats where they will be fitted ).I think Tyres on the drive are Halfords.Dont forget discount codes or Topcashback and Quidco.1

I’ve used a local company after I gashed my tyre on Friday. They were £150 cheaper than KwikFit for the same tyre and they’re coming to fit on the drive today. So I’d defo look local.

I've used Formula 1 for the last few sets of tyres, but buy them online - when I walked in and asked for a price, the same tyres fitted in the same place by the same person were much more expensive than when I bought online in advance.0

Ive just bought 3 tyres from ASDA (they were the cheapest). However its just occurred to me that you usually fit tyres in pairs?0
