John Pye - doesn't match the seller's description

Hi all,

I've been using John Pye for 5 years and always paid by Credit Card and never had an issue until now. I've always bought as was described or shown.

I bid for an item and won what I believed was - AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) - looking at the pics.
However, when I received them at home they were - AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe Charging Case (Lightning).

I have attached the photos.

I did email the company and received this response:

Good afternoon,

Thank you for contacting us regarding the above invoice.

This lot was described as air pods, the description didn't state which model or that they came with a charging case, you have received what was advertised.

Kind Regards

I am just curious as does Section 75 apply as the items wasn’t as described?

How much did  they cost excluding P&P ?

I bid for an item and won what I believed was

On that basis even if over £100, they are not misdescribed, as they do not state usb-c or lightning in the description. Sadly you have assumed, rather than asking the question 1st.

The photo is of a USB-C box though.

OP - Is there anywhere where it says the photo is an example and not the product you will receive?

Probably the original owner bought a new pair (with USB-C) and reused the packaging to sell their old Lightning version. The description doesn't state what version they are, so can't see a claim they were misdescribed being upheld.

That's exactly my point. The Box is of a different Airpods Pro box to the one I received.

Unfortunately, it only says in the description:

APPLE AIRPODS EARBUDS IN WHITE. (WITH BOX)

  • So how much did they cost?

    Over £120+
  • For the sake of a different cable that you can pick up for a couple of quid, is it worth the hassle of returning them?
Or am I missing something here?

It's not the actual cable (which I wish it was) that is different, it's a completely different model. The Box which is shown in the pic is different to the ones I received.

What was described in the pic was -

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C)

    What I received was -

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe Charging Case (Lightning)

The Airpods cases look exactly the same so I was going with the pic.
