My renewal with AA was £574 ish up from £332 ish
Used TopCashBack via GoCompare for approx £45 back from a policy from Aviva Zero for £449 - waiting for that to be paid but still, not as bad as it could be!Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Exceptionally unlikely but there is little point calling every broker in the country on the off chance one is willing to reduce their commission down a point or two.sheslookinhot said:

I used 3 comparison sites, and checked directly with Aviva, Direct Line, LV, and Tesco as I've used them before. I usually get email quotes from companies I've had quotes from before as well, such as Zurich, AA etc. Spent a good couple of days online. Did get a cheaper quote from one company but it had a massive excess which when brought down a peg or three made it more expensive. I'm with Sheila's Wheels at the minute.0

I could live with that looking at some of the prices others have been quoted.Bigphil1474 said:I've just renewed mine (now 21 years since my last claim), last year premium was £245, this years best deal I could get is £385 and that's staying with same insurer. That's a 57% increase.1 -
Last year my premium was £434; this year LV want £731. Nothing has changed, although I am now 70 years of age. Could this be the reason? I am absolutely disgusted by this and will need to shop around. I can't be bothered with the hassle but needs must.0

Definitely, wait till you're 84 and see the rates, mine has been going up for the last 4 years with the car I own but it's the car I want.MsSED said:Last year my premium was £434; this year LV want £731. You have to do the maths and for me I would rather stick to the luxury I have (2016 Jaguar XE) than drop down to a smaller car costing many hundreds more to buy to save very little on insurance.1
