I have an Audi A1 (2020) where the time and the mileage count up keeps resetting randomly after a few days of setting it.

Has anyone experienced this? Audi want £99 just to look at it. Hoping its just software updates needed tbh!

Any help would be appreciated

Edit - I had the battery checked and they said its 96% so not an issue

Who checked battery? As 96% of what?

Could be a loose battery terminal or earth lead, meaning drops power.

It was done at a local garage.

The car never fails or struggles to start. I assume when it went in for the battery check they would have looked at the battery terminal or earth lead?

Nothing else is ever affected except the time and mileage count

  • £99 to scan your car is cheap.

  • Go to a VAG independent garage for help. Or even a local trusted garage.

Go to an Audi forum and ask the question or an Audi specialist.

I had previously posted in 2 Audi forums and was told to get a battery check. I didn't get any further responses so I came here before deciding what to do next

Do you mean the trip mileage counter resets itself, not the overall odometer?

Not sure if that is part of MMI or another system. You can check the version of MMI and see if there is any update.

Put your current version into https://mib-helper.com/index.php

You may be able to update MMI via MIB2.

Yes that’s correct the trip mileage counter and the time clock
it’s not the odometer that resets

Thanks ill have a look at that tomorrow

There are 2 version of the trip meter on my Audi.

    Short and Long journey

Long has to be manually reset whereas Short auto resets at certain time intervals

Could it be you are looking at Short or inadvertently manually resetting Long (it’s just a long press of a button on the steering wheel)
