New Lease Car Fault
I have a 73 plate Peugeot 2008 that I got in September. The infotainment system has completely shut off rendering most feature useless (apart from engine). There is no button to turn back on/reset it. All Peugeot dealers in my area and next town cannot look at the car until March or some aren’t taking appointments at all.
The dealership advised me to take to local dealer to get fixed as they’ve never heard of this issue.
Leasys (who are the registered owners) have passed this over to their finance company, who have said there’s nothing they can do until it’s looked at in March. They initially said they would contact the local dealers themselves but now don’t appear to be doing this.
I don’t think this is good enough for a completely new car. I’m paying full whack for a car that has a fault. Who, if any, has any responsibility for this? I would like it looked at sooner, a reduction in my pay or a replacement car.
Are any of these possible or should I just have to wait?

Try here.
Can't believe the headset does not have a reset, usually just a small pin hole.

I’ve posted on those forums. No one could help either, not for this new model of car. Someone suggested pulling the fuse out and back in again but I can’t get my (small) hand in unfortunately.0

I would suspect that the fuse may have blown. Get a fuse remover, they cost a pound.superc said:I’ve posted on those forums. No one could help either, not for this new model of car. Someone suggested pulling the fuse out and back in again but I can’t get my (small) hand in unfortunately.

You could speak to lease co, but bet all they will say is take to a dealer, as could be a warranty issue.
If you are not bothered about some settings, you could just remove negative battery connection.
Quick google shows this is a common issue.

I needed my Peugeot scanned and fixed, No Peugeot dealer within 30 miles could book me in for 8/10 weeks. Then 6/8 weeks to book in for the fix.I just called every dealer, after dealer search.I ended in my driving 60 miles to a dealer that could fit me in 3 days later, then fixed it New Adblue tank 5 days later.Put in you postcode and call further away. Its not good but what can you do.Are you in the North, East, South or west.Is it this type of radio etc.

I’ve got fuse tweezers, I can’t get my hand in. I’m in Scotland. Dealership in Manchester. It’s still under warranty. My issue is though is paying full payment for a new lease car which has a fault already. I don’t see why I should be mucking about with fuses, battery etc. Shouldnt this be the responsibility of either Leasys, the dealership I got it through or the finance company and what can be done.0

No it’s not that radio. I’ve tried holding every button down. I’ve tried all avenues to do
fault myself. That’s not my issue/question here.0 -
Could you ask someone with smaller/more nimble hands to assist?superc said:I’ve got fuse tweezers, I can’t get my hand in.
If they are reliant on a dealer to fix it and they cannot get a slot in a dealer then they cannot do anything about that, it is unfortunate, but not a lot anyone can do about it.superc said:I’m in Scotland. Dealership in Manchester. It’s still under warranty.
I am not sure anyone is suggesting that you conduct major surgery on your car, but pulling and either replacing a blown fuse, or pulling and the re-seating one to reset something that might well solve the issue would appear to be in your own interests. It might resolve the issue, it might not, but the alternative is to wait several weeks.superc said:My issue is though is paying full payment for a new lease car which has a fault already. I’ve got very small hands.I’m weary of touching anything and voiding the warranty as it’s a lease car so I’m not the registered keeper.0

I’ve got very small hands.Doesn't that make it easier?
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
