Bosch Tumble Dryer WTN83201GB Water Leaking

I purchased a Bosch Tumble Dryer WTN83201GB in November 2023

It seems to be leaking water from the heat exchanger/condenser unit at the bottom when in use.
It is in a conservatory but our old one was and never an issue.

Has anyone had this issue before? is it the conservatory due to it being cold or is it a faulty machine?

Has it leaked from the start? if so i would get Bosch out ,if just started are you sure the condenser is fitted back in correctly.

We have the same model approximately eighteen months old never had any problems with it, have you cleaned the heat exchanger a build up of debris/fluff can cause water leakage at the bottom of the machine.

I clean the heat exchanger once a month. Have cleaned it today just to make sure its all clean.

So would it being in a conservatory be the issue?

I believe its leaked since we had it but always assumed it was the conservatory. Not sure if it is tho?

    A stupid question....
It's in your conservatory - is it plumbed into waste?
If not, does it have a container for collecting condensate? The container is optional and has to be bought separately.
Operate this appliance using the water drain hose provided. If you connect the water drain hose → Page 14, you do not have to regularly empty the condensation container → Page 30. ¡ You can order this optional → "Accessories", Page 26 from our customer service.

There's never ever a stupid question, just stupid answers. That was the first thing I was told as a junior engineer 20+ years.

The second thing was 'never assume', I find the two go hand in hand most times!

no question is a stupid question!

its not plumbed into waste. It collects in the container that’s the pull out drawer at the top of the machine

on every cycle the container fills with water (not completely full still room for more depending on load size) but there is also a puddle on the floor

Well for peace of mind you could always move it into somewhere different and try it see if it still leaks.

We have Different bosch model but had same problem in December. It needed a new pump. Thankfully ours was under 5 year warranty so bosch fixed it. Remember to clean and wash the fluff filter after every cycle...
  • Just an update on this, Bosch engineer attended this morning.

He couldn't find a reason why the tumble drier is leaking. He said they have changed the design on the latest ones as ones hes previously worked on have had access doors the bottom of the tumble drier. He can order the access doors but it wont fit out machine as there are no notches in the plastic casing for them to go into.

He spent ages checking the levelling but this wasn't the issue.

He has to now write a report and wait to see if Bosch can find a solution. If they cannot then they will look at replacing the machine.

No idea on timescales for this though  :(
