Asda port in number - bad so far.
Options
I found in here good deal regarding £40 Asda gift card, so, I ordered SIM, received on Thursday 18th January, activated bundle and ported in my own number straight away. Well... end of service then :-(
Port happened on Friday about 10-11AM as lost signal on both numbers, as usually, but, Asda sim never waked up. Today is 26.01, I keep calling them every single day. My number is very unique, I stated already that I'll fight for this number if I have to. Every day - different story. For example two days ago I was told that's Asda fault for not allocating profile for the number. I said fair enough as things happens, and I was so thankful for honest answer, as to me being honest is most important to build confidence, regardless the case. So, next day nothing (yesterday), I gave a call, I was told totally different story. It's old provider fault, Asda will complain to OFCOM. I explained what I heard day before but I was told that I misunderstood, I started to be very angry about this case as I was feeling that something is really wrong, so I said to customers rep that I'll finish call now and make complain to Asda officially via resolver as enough is enough - which I done yesterday evening.
I rand today again, no trace of any OFCOM complaint or yesterdays conversation!
I contacted old provider, I was told that everything completed from their side a week ago!
I was advised to get in touch with "port team", so, I rang Asda but they told me that they don't have a "port team" so everything must be dealt through person which you're talking to.
Apparently log says I was contacted several times, but unable to reach me because my phone was OFF! Well...I think child would understand the case when YOU HAVE NO SERVICE on your phone, then no one can call you, right? (Every single time I stated to call me on temporary number which I provided - but I see that they ignored it)
I feel that I'm going to nowhere :-( but I must somehow get back my number, so long fight on front of me. Currently no service on my very own number and no service on Asda number, while bundle is paid for and time is running... I had to manage then 3rd sim to get contact, additional expenses which shouldn't be in place
Feedback now:
- website: nice and easy
- phone customer service: exceptional, brilliant, you wait on phone no longer than 30secs, 99% of times is very nice and friendly, very positive experience (1% knocked because of yesterdays, it was only single time when I was angry and had to right go, I don't like doing it but had no choice)
- potential problems?: as above
- is it worth switching to Asda now due to £40 Asda gift card?: If you like their deal(bundle) and port will go smooth then YES. Personally I regret doing it!
I know it looks mixed up between my bad story and "positive experience", but I try to show you it from very neutral side.

Just from experience all networks use Mobile Number Portability (MNP) via a porting team although the porting team won't be customer facing, Asda Mobile should be carrying out some checks, test calls etc and then raise it with MNP as a split or failed port, hope this helps0
