Virgin costs.

2022, we were paying £65 per onth for BB. No TV or other extras. I complained and they eventually reduced this to £25 per month. Now just got a letter saying that was a special offer and it will come to an end in April. Back up to £60+
Happy with service / speed etc but not the cost. I will call and threaten to change but seems many other deals are similar. A

If there are other providers in your area that offer a comparable service then it is useful to be able to tell Virgin you are leaving to go to xxxxxbroadband.
You might have to do a bit of searching. Uswitch, for example, doesn't list all of the providers that I can access

If you leave Virgin then new cabling required as they use their own infrastructure so that might be a nuisance for you.

If you have an old ‘BT’ type connection point , you may be able to get that reactivated, so minimal hassle ( obviously you would need to check if the speed’s available over that copper pair network is acceptable ) , if FTTP is available from Openreach or a Alternative Network, then this would need to be installed at your address , so some ‘hassle’ , but that’s only really being home for a few hours when they visit and install their kit on and in your house , but even if you have an old BT connection that can be remotely brought back into service you still need to be available on the installation date just in case , as if it’s not been in use for years , it may need ‘work’ to get it back in service.
Its definitely not just a new router that’s required , as stated only Virgin use Virgin network , so you cannot simply arrange to replace the Virgin router with another ISP router , it doesn’t work like that1 -

If you live with a partner, there's an easier way to do it. Basically Virgin always give the best prices for new customers.
So, if the Virgin account is currently under your name, cancel the contract. Then take out a new contract with Virgin under your partner's name. When this deal ends, cancel the contract and take out a new one under your name - and so on and so forth.
I did this for 8 years and never paid more than £25 per month for Virgin Broadband.2 -
Give virgin a call, follow thinking of leaving us option, see what they offer you and if that’s no good, put in your cancellation notice. If you set your marketing preferences in your virgin media account, so they can contact you, you should get a call back with a far better price. You have 30 days to cancel the cancellation should you change your mind.0
