DCBL Court claim
Charbil
Ive read loads on here, the newbie stuff ect but i'm still stuck. I've had a letter through today for a court claim, from DCBL For a parking eye fine. They want £230 all together, the original fine of £70 has doubled then add the legal fees ect, is it right that its doubled? I've read all the letters and cant see anywhere about how much it can increase when parking eye pass it to DCBL. I had another ticket 2 days after this one & was worried i was going to get another in the post the week but ive spoken to DCBL and they dont have anything else for me and insist this is only for the 1 ticket. I have ADHD & really dont think i have the capacity to fight it in court but would be great if i could get it reduced or something?

What is the Issue Date on your Claim Form?1 -
Or is the letter saying you have an unpaid CCJ?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am going to assume that's the Claim Issue Date.Charbil said:19 Jan 24With a Claim Issue Date of 19th January, you have until Wednesday 7th February to file an Acknowledgment of Service but otherwise there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 21st February 2024 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.1 -
Please show us the POC, minus your VRM.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for this, it’s makes more sense and seems more possible, but what would happen if I loose? Is a ccj issued immediately or do I still get time to pay?KeithP said:

All if this is already explained in the Newbies thread. There is no CCJ risk and you'd pay less. Please show us the POC (you'll know what that is when you read the Template Defence).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Looks like DCBL are trying to get the PoC right but are not quite there yet.

What does the second sentence there add?
Whichever way they say it, it still doesn't say what the driver did wrong.
Which parking company is involved?3
