Octopus not getting readings from smart meter

Hi, they generally are better than this, I think it's just growing pains rather than anything else. Having problems with my own billing at the moment but although it's frustrating it isn't really a big deal and at least with Octopus I have the confidence they'll sort it out sooner or later. I'm on Tracker and consistently paying 30% less than SVR so worth putting up with a bit of sloppy admin while they get their act together again.BJV said:Oh, NO, I was hoping Octopus would be better than this.
We have just got an electric car and are swapping from Scottish Power, who were terrible, to Octopus because of their Ev rates. Hope I don't have the same problem.2 -
Thank you for letting me know. The difference in charging EVs is a massive amount if you do it at night; it is over £0.20 per KW compared to Scottish power, so I guess you are right and I am looking forward to getting all me washing and drying done when I am asleepmmmmikey said:

I trust that you have working smoke alarms that are interlinked and you have an alternative escape route?Fire brigades warn against unattended use of washing machines and tumble dryers, let alone use when sleeping.Even refrigerators can cause fires (remember Grenfell)...3 -
Whatever their position or level of engagement I would be bothered.Flugelhorn said:thanks I'll wait to see if they turn up to mend it - they don't seem bothered - no readings for gas or electric so presume it is some sort of transmitter problem
I would suggest that failing to keep track of own consumption and getting billed on inaccurate estimated readings is one of the recurring problems that has most impact on personal cash flow and stress.
Check on your Octopus account and input manual readings.0 -
I have SMETS 1 smart meters and only the electric can be read by Octopus but I haven't had any readings in my account since the 19th Jan. I keep checking several times per day but there's only up to the 19th Jan. If it continues then I will contact them, but I'm hopeful that by tomorrow it will sort itself out.Someone please tell me what money is0

I've been waiting for over 2 months for an engineer appointment to fix my electric meter. I didn't have too long to wait when Octopus installed it last year but not so good now. First they said they'd contact "our engineer team" for an appointment and when I chased it up after two months it's we'll contact "your meter operators"....
They've been good apart from this wait, but I'm guessing the availablity of meter fixers in your area has a large part to play.0
