    Energy forum is not an advice forum its a discussion forum based on money saving .
    I'd ask people to think about the tracker tariff as they would if they were investing in an financial tracker.

    Just because past performance has shown it would have been a good choice, it does not mean it will continue to be so in perpetuity. 

    Some more enlightened posters than I have already given some deeper analysis that indicates the gap between the tracker tariff and the SVT could well narrow quite substantially if/when the predicted price cap cuts are applied over the next two measuring periods.
  • As a general rule, it should be safe to say that there should NEVER be a straight statement made that a particular product or tariff "will be the best for you" without having full knowledge of the individual circumstances of the person who is being directed to it. It's just too broad-brush, and any such statement should always be viewed with some suspicion.
