Can I Balance Transfer from my spouse's credit card?

Trying to help my son with his Barclaycard debt - now down to around £4500 after I took out a loan to pay some off as we were covering only the interest. We tried to transfer his debt to my HSBC 0% card but Barclaycard refused it. Is there a 3rd person card that Barclaycard will accept? Tried their customer services but they refused to talk about it - told us to take out a cash card and pay that off. Written to them but they don't respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated.0

If you were transferring from Barclaycard to HSBC then it would be HSBC who would refuse the transfer, not Barclaycard. If you were trying to pay your son's Barclaycard with an HSBC credit card then Barclaycard would refuse, as they do not allow a credit card to be paid with another credit card (neither does any other credit card provider).Jazziesmum_2 said:Trying to help my son with his Barclaycard debt - now down to around £4500 after I took out a loan to pay some off as we were covering only the interest. They will not change their policies because someone calls them (or communicates by other means), their policies are set out for a reason.Jazziesmum_2 said:Tried their customer services but they refused to talk about it - told us to take out a cash card and pay that off. Have your son complete an SOA and post it on the Debt Free Wanabee section of the forum, that way your son can be advised of the best way to clear his debts himself rather than you doing it on his behalf, which in general never ends well.Jazziesmum_2 said:Any help would be greatly appreciated.
