Pre medical travel insurance..

I've been looking at Insurance quotes for over a week.
There's a question that has no explanation and on some websites it's grouped with a question asking if anyone's been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
The question is
"Are you or anyone in your party currently on a waiting list for treatment or investigation?"
On other websites its not grouped with terminal illness questions.
So I'm confused as to what to tick. Because if I tick yes I'm refused insurance and if I tick no it offers it us.
The only thing we are being referred for is a autism assessment and for pigment loss which doesn't actually need a referral but the new Dr decided to say he would put a referral in.
I'm nuerodiverse and this question is really stopping me in my tracks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Honestly, you have a referral, so that is a yes.
I know that means they can't insure you, but that is the correct answer.
You could always call the insurer you are thinking of and ask them. They will be able to tell you for sure.

I'd agree with calling the insurance company in person to ask. The nature of your assessment is likely to result in advice and/or medication rather than surgery or inability to travel so maybe if you explain that it will help.
I think it's time insurance underwriters updated some of the questions. The world and his wife must be on a waiting list for something at the moment.☹️0 -
When my husband was on a waiting list , the appointment came for after our return.
The holiday onsurance refused cover at forst but once he explained what the referral was for they agreed to cover him for an additional £50.0 -

Different insurers have different standpoints on certain matters and so have different question sets. As such you can find some are more favourable to others for you.
But before you do anything else, make sure you are answering the question asked and not trying to second guess what they are asking. Most do ask if you have any condition under investigation and it's not for you to decide if your referral is in their scope of interest or not.0
