Petition asking Govt to Ban Drop-off charges at airportsCloses 19th Nov 2025There was another one put forward which was better worded. It was not accepted as this one was already open. Only one petition can run on the same issue on govt website.1

For anyone visiting this thread. I successfully challenged the Heathrow APCOA fine that was issued (May 2025) using the template at the start of this thread.3

Manchester airport drop-off successfully cancelled at APCOA, using the template.
Even if you intend to pay it, might as well let them spend a few quid sending you a PCN, then appeal it, you can still pay £5 if paid in 14 days in the unlikely event it doesn't get cancelled.

Another success for the template appeal letter at the start of this thread.
This was an APCOA invoice for Manchester Airport drop off. Less than 4 minutes, forgetful driver didn't pay the charge.
I received the standard 'Cancellation of Parking Charge' letter by email this morning.
Thank you to the forumites that take the time to help and explain (ad infinitum) on this board! It is greatly appreciated.2 -
Hi, thanks for the info. Just had confirmation of cancellation of Gatwick PCN using the details from this thread. Many thanks.2

I want to thank @Coupon-mad & @troublemaker22 for this group thread
On the 8th of June I dropped my mum off at the Gatwick North Drop off zone. I fully intended to pay the drop off fee, but considering it was 6am when I got home I completely forgot. I suddenly remembered a week later, but by then the online payment method wouldn't work. I thought about phoning NCP, but when I found this thread I thought I'd just wait and see what would happen.
On the 24th I got the dreaded "Parking Charge" letter. The next day I went onto NCP's website and lodged an appeal. I made sure I appealed as the Keeper and didn't confirm who the driver was. I copied and pasted the 5 points above (point 5 was valid as their cameras proved my car was there for only 4 minutes and 1 second). Less than 24 hours later I received this reply (personal details removed)4 -
How many times can you use the appeals letter in the first post? It seems to me that it should work every time?0
