Are you asking whether the top of the door will be below the coving / picture rail on the other side of the wall? i.e., whether the coving / picture rail is at the same height on both sides of the wall??
Yes. The wall is on the ground floor and is the same both sides. I was just wondering if a door with its frame will be the same height, under the lip/slope, on both sides. There is no requirement for a lintel.

What has made you think that?

  • Why would the height of the door be different on one side of the wall than on the other? Is the floor the same height on both sides? Is the ceiling? Is this lip/slope the same both sides?

On the side that the door opens into, the door facings (architrave?) will be both wider and higher than on the other side as on the other side there will be the door stops that the door closes against and the facings come to the edge of that.

So one side of the wall will have the door frame under the lip and the other side over the lip?
