A brilliant Broadband deal from Vodafone.

My 2 year broadband contract with Vodafone was due to end on 26th January, and go up from £25 a month to £30 a month, for about 73 Mbps.
I saw on VoucherCodes an offer for Virgin Media M250 full fibre broadband at £27 a month for an 18 month contract, with an Amazon voucher for £140, making the cost per month £19.22.
So I called Vodafone to cancel my contract, and said I was going with Virgin via VoucherCodes.
On hearing the details, Vodafone cancellation dept offered me a new 24 month contract, Full Fibre 500 package for £19 a month, at double Virgin's speed - the customer rep actually said they wanted to retain customers, not just give the best deal to new customers.
I now get a minimum of 250 Mbps and up to 500 Mbps. It started today and I have got 500Mbps once, although it's mostly around 370 Mbps. A brilliant bargain!
I am very satisfied and recommend this deal if you can get it.

Were you already on FTTP , but with an 80Mb package, or did this ‘deal’ include upgrading to FTTP from FTTC , if it were dependent on taking a new FTTP connection and this connection is over the City Fibre network , then there are some hard to beat prices to get you signed up , it’s great for the consumer, but smacks of desperation for the network provider

If your VF deal was remaining on the Openreach FTTP network ( so your ONT is an Openreach one ) then it’s very good , on par with what they do in City Fibre areas , when City Fibre is available, they effectively offer services to the ISP ( like VF ) for peanuts hoping to get them to move customers off Openreach and onto CF , VF are one of the not many major ISP that use both CF and Openreach….VF were obviously pretty keen to keep your business and not lose you to Virgin0

ive got a 24 month contract coming to and end with vodafone, city fibre installed new fibre optic in my neighbourhood and vodafone gave me a great initial deal of 50% off the top internet package which I believe is called pro900, my contract expires in april and the price will double to £66 which is way too expensive for me, tbh I never needed the speed in the first place but the deal was so good I took it, so now I need to find a decent alternative that doesnt put me all the way back down to sub 100 mbps, what number do you phone to get to the cancellation department at vodafone? if I could get the fibre 500 deal for anywhere close to what you got will take it in a heartbeat, cheers0

Locally, Vodafone have only just lost their City Fiber exclusivity, and the alternative providers are not yet showing on the comparison websites. The one I am using is Toob, for which the offer came through the letterbox. However, if you go to the City Fiber website, and enter your address, they will show you which ISPs are available, with their respective offers (which you can use as a starting point...!)1

We have just switched from BT and active from 31 Jan. I was with going to take out another deal with them but cancelled that deal within the cooling off period. However when switch was requested an auto message came through saying there was an early cancellation fee of£174. BT assure me to ring billing when final bill is received and they will cancel the fee.0
