Max age 74. Not a problem for many but would be for me.[Deleted User] said:
Doesn't the Virgin Club M do all that for a lower premium than even Nationwide FlexPlus at £12.50?friolento said:35har1old said:
What about the coop switch offerroadweary said:!!!!!! - I wanted an account with good travel insurance and fully featured roadside recovery....had settled on the above at £13 per month. I noticed the switch offer with 2 active direct debits required on the donor account and set those up early December....they started coming out late December.
I was a bit paranoid as the DDs said 'unknown' for frequency so I decided I'd wait until the DDs had come out twice for that to be populated, even though it didn't appear to be in the Ts and Cs.
Anyhow, turns out the offer finished 21st December - serves me right for being paranoid!
I used to have the FlexPlus for the travel and breakdown insurance. As they want extra money if you are over 70, I have moved to the COOP Everyday Extra account which insures you until 80, for only a slighty higher monthly premium.
COOP switch offer:https://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/products/bank-accounts/switch-and-saveVirgin don’t have a current switch offer, either. It would take around 5 years before Virgin actually costs me less than the COOP 😳

They use Green Flag who won’t get you and your vehicle home if they can’t fix it but to a local garage. I’d only go with AA or RAC for that reason.[Deleted User] said:

There's also no 'onward travel' included - Nationwide's pacakaged AA cover includes this, I think uniquely among its peers.

Just switched to Nationwide as our previous bank closed it's local branch. Absolutley worth it as the Travel insurance will cost us an extra £500 per year approx, due to medical conditions. all other insurance companies are quoting over £1000. so there's that plus breakdown cover.

They didn't ask any extra to cover the pre existing medical conditions?ju5tanam3 said:Just switched to Nationwide as our previous bank closed it's local branch. You can buy extra cover for certain conditions, and for cover over age 69.1 -
I've just applied for a Flex-Plus account for the insurance package, and because my Flex-Direct account is being switched to CoOp.friolento said:roadweary said:

During the application, it was highlighted that they're changing the provider of their travel insurance to Aviva, and there'll be no extra requirements for over 70's. I think it said this comes into effect in either April or May.

Interesting. Aviva are the provider of the COOP travel insurance, too.Though I don't think the T&Cs are same same as for Nationwide.
I doubt I'll be changing back because I also get gadget insurance from the COOP.
