Lots of phishing emails doing the rounds

Options
I have received two emails in as many days regarding my so called bank account with two banks, one being Lloyds TSB and Wells Fargo, in America. Asking to click links, verify my details and the one from Lloyds telling me if I don't do so my account will be frozen. Fine I thought I don't have an account with Lloyds thankfully, just wanted to warn people who do. Checked Lloyds TSB website and they have an area regarding phishing emails and they advise forwarding the email to them at emailscams@lloydstsb.co.uk and then deleting it. Maybe next time they will get the bank account right but I doubt it.

  • Luckily, most of these land up in my "spam magnet" mailbox that allows me to better train my spam filter in Thunderbird - if they reach anywhere else, they get ignored & junked faster than a very fast thing.

I've never had one of these (though had a Paypal one) until recently, now I get several a day.

Mostly from banks I don't even have accounts with.

  • I've never had one before, but the other night I had one from "ebay.com" telling me I had silver Powerseller status if I clicked on this link...

The account that I was using only had 1 feedback and that's from buying...
