Delay due to 'bad weather'

Hi
We were recently delayed by almost 11 hours flying from Lisbon to Luton with easyjet.
The incoming plane we were due to fly back on was diverted to Faro due to bad weather (although the weather was fine and other flights seemed to be landing!). After about 2 hours in Faro it flew back to Lisbon and we were given a revised departure time approx 3 hours after our original departure. This then changed and we finally departed almost 11 hours late.
Easyjet say they wont pay because due to the bad weather delay the crew would be over their hours and they couldn't source another crew.
Is it worth pursuing this?

Well there we go then, reading the OP this seems to be a Luton based Easyjet so therefore EZY, you cant expect every airline to have weather-related 24/7 contingency such as spare crew at every non-base airport, you have no valid claim. Suck it up, just like I had to suck a 24 hour weather delay once.
Other flights landing doesnt really matter here, wind can come and go in minutes.0 -
Thanks for the info.
The frustrating part is that the plane returned from Faro and was sat on the tarmac ready to go, we were given a departure time which would have meant a 3 hour delay, then they pulled the plug.
Guess I'll have to suck it up then.0 -
And to rub salt in the wounds they gave us a £3 voucher which none of the food outlets in the terminal we were in would accept!!0

Yes you cant expect airlines to have standby crew based at airport they dont have planes (and by extension crew) based at. If the flight was the other way round, you may have more of a case.0
