Saving pics from phone........cloud?

You can move direct to a memory stick. That's a good start.
And you can save to an external hard drive which you only have to pay for once.
Any idea just how many and total file size? How much memory are you talking?
Size matters with storing in a cloud facility.

I use Google One - 100gb for £1.59 per month . If you have Android phone, you can set the phone to auto upload photos, also can use for other stuff like docs etc1

You can access your Google photos on numerous devices, are you having an issue with that?
