Good grief! You lot are ridiculous...
Let the girl buy from Republic if she wants. We're all adults and can make up our own minds when it comes to spending our cash the way we want to.

    BULLSH*T!!!!!!!!!!

only because it doesnt fit into what you want to believe or perceive. fine by me. primark jeans are as good as republic jeans. if you prefer republic then buy republic. the fact is no one likes to be told that they are wasting their money or that what they perceive to be value in fact is not value. most importantly people dont want to be told that the label that they buy is just that buying a label. now im aware of factories that produce for new look and for jane norman as well as dorothy perkins. they are produced from one and the same source yet some would perceive that these same jane norman products are better. you go figure.

you buy primark- your buying cheap. ( i dont see howthough you can honestly think you can buy real quality denim for these prices- even if they were made in taiwan they would still cost more then this if they were top grade)

what are you on about? do you know what the cost of denim is ? let me put it this way no jean (and im talking denim only) costs over £10 to produce thats from the cheapest of the cheap (obviously) to the designer of designer jeans that might cost you £100 plus.

I may be wrong, but its not just the quality of denim, but the fit and cut of the jean. I have jeans from both primark and republic and both are okay quality but the cut is different. Does this mean that they are modified by the 'designer'?
I really like the republic jeans coz they fit nice and have funky designs and they dont cost an arm and a leg.

Just to weigh in with my two cents...I've got a couple of pairs of republic jeans, a couple of pairs of "designer" jeans and I used to have a couple of pairs of primark jeans...before they fell to pieces.

Now, I might be the exception that proves the rule, but the fact that my republic jeans are still going long after the primark ones have given up the ghost speaks volumes to me. And I can honestly say I don't think they were as nice as the republic ones to start with.

I don't really feel there's a huge problem with the way the republic brand jeans are sold in store. You see some really nice jeans hung up, go and look at them and they're £90. You see some other (less nice looking, to be fair) jeans hung up at £20 a pair...I don't see, then, why anyone would assume these were a similar standard garment, just because they share the same shop...

The other downside, of course, with buying primark jeans is that you have to go into primark to get them - something I try with all my might to avoid doing if humanly possible. :)

  • nope. I think the OP's Sale post was resurected by someone long after the sale and then turned into a big Internet Agument.

I'm just waiting for someone to invoke Godwins Law...

about republic.co.uk service and clothing quality:
i received a dress that i ordered online a week ago. it should come with a belt but the belt is missing, so i emailed the webteam to ask for them sending me back the belt, however, it has been more than a week and they have totally ignored my email.
ok, so yesterday i took the dress to the store to ask for an exchange, and the staff said that they didnt have the stock for those online clothing and suggested me to call or email the online sales people.
well, now i hv basically given up asking for the missing belt because its just a waste of time as the republic staff r so unhelpful.
