Sorry, I Must Disagree.....i Have 4 Pairs Of Republic Jeans And Can Assure You That There Is No Comparisson Between Republic And Primark-their Not Even In The Same League!! Republic Are Far Superior Not Only In Quality Of Material But Also Design And Wearability
the only difference is in the labelling, the label package costs as a whole no more than 10-15p .. the rest is your imagination im afraid. if you find them ok that is fine by me, im just giving you a reality check on the actuality of the products. as the previous poster said there are some so called brands that are worse than republic/primark but provide an image that you want to buy into. trust me when i say that £4 - £9 asda/primark etc jean is being sold under another label as part of a 2 for £something-a-lot-more elsewhere ..0 -
sorry but i have to disagree with this, just because an item is made in the same sweat shop does not mean they are being made with the same materials. I am not being naieve or buying into the whole "desinger label" thing when i say that i genuinely believe there is a massive difference in quality in primark and designer brands. Everyone knows your paying extra for the name- thats obvious, but you do expect better quality even between stores like river island and primark. I have both and i can feel a difference in the material, the durability and the cut, whenever i go into primark and try on clothes i always feel they dont quite fit- could just be me but i dont get this in other shops! i always find they just lack a certain something- and no thats not the designer label.0

...and you have 4 pairs of Primark jeans also do you, in order that you can compare both types?
I think this irrelevant- do you have 4 pairs of designer jeans to compare to your primark ones? I think the general consensus by most people who shop in primark is that they accept they are not getting the best quality but they are willing to substitute this for a lower price.0 -

Whether you like to believe it or not, Republic, just like Primark, are having their jeans churned out by people in sweathsops in Taiwan. When you buy Ted Baker jeans don't be mistaken into thinking that the said Mr Baker is shacked up with a Singer sewing machine, stitching jeans for those who care to pay his ludicrous prices. No, quite the reverse, Mr Baker also gets them made in Taiwan and creams off a heftier profit for himself than Mr Primark.
When you buy Versace or Ted Baker etc, you're buying into a dream, and clever Mr Baker and co realise this. And sometimes dreams are much more expensive than they need or ought to be.
The stark truth is that there's little to choose between the two quality-wise. Arguably, Primark will often be of a much better quality than its designer counterpart.
OBVIOUSLY NO, I DONT HAVE 4 PAIRS OF PRIMARK JEANS TO COMPARE.....ALTHOUGH I DO HAVE THE FEELING IN ALL TEN OF MY FINGERTIPS WHICH ALLOWS ME TO FEEL THE QUALITY OF GOODS BEFORE I SPEND CASH ON THE. SINCE YOU SEEM TO BE SUCH AN EXPERT ON JEANS, I EXPECT YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT DIFFERENT WEIGHTS OF DENIM ARE USED TO PRODUCE DIFFERENT QUALITY/FIT JEANS....THEY ALSO FEEL COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WITH GOOD QUALITY DENIM BEING MUCH SOFTER TO THE TOUCH THAN ITS INFERIOR QUALITY COUNTERPART. AS FOR YOUR COMMENT ABOUT SWEATSHOPS IN TAIWAN, I THINK A LITTLE RESEARCH IS REQUIRED ON YOUR PART AS REPUBLIC IS IN FACT A MEMBER OF THE ETHICAL TRADING INITIATIVE AND DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER IS QUITE A SERIOUS OFFENCE!! LASTLY, FREEDOM OF SPEACH IS A PRIVILAGE GIFTED TO ONE AND ALL AS IS PERSONNAL OPINION. KEEP THAT IN MIND BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO BERATE ANYONE ELSE WHO CHOOSES TO BE OF A CONFLICTING OPINION TO THE ARROGANT AND WHOLLY UNEDUCATED ONE YOU POSSESS!
P.S THE THANKS ADDED WAS DONE SO WITH A HEAVY AIR OF SARCASM!!!Ritetidy x0 -

I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT I AM IN NO NEED OF A REALITY CHECK FROM YOURSELF! WHAT EXACTLY QUALIFIES YOU TO BE SUCH AN EXPERT ON JEANS AND AS I SEE FROM YOUR OTHER COMMENTS YOU STATE THAT PEPE IS THE BEST FIT FOR WOMEN?? AGAIN, YOUR QUALIFICATIONS ARE WHAT SORRY.Ritetidy x0 -

the other day i went to dorothy perkins to look at their 2 for £25 jeans and the smell and fabric of them is just like the £6 primark jeans i bought. well, to be honest, i am not very happy with the smell, coarse denim and cutting of my primark jeans, but its only £6 so theres nothing i should complain about. you get what you pay for.
however, for DP jeans, i was quite shocked that their 2 for £25 jeans have that cheap smell (chemical or dye smell).0 -
"cutting of my primark jeans, but its only £6 so theres nothing i should complain about. you get what you pay for."`1
This is exactly what i was saying- i dont know anyone who goes into primark believing they are getting top end designer quality jeans- you subsitutue level of quality for a lower cost.0 -
i have brought from two sales now and all my tops have shrunk!0

This is a very old arguement, but it comes down to freedom of choice. Some people prefer the cheaper option, some people prefer to pay that bit more for what is believed to be a superior product. In my earlier post I was speaking from personal experience and I have had no problem with any purchases from republic except sizing. I have bought many products and thier combat shorts are second to none.
Long Live Republic...LOL;)Don't ask me, Im SKINT0 -
put a pair of primark jeans next to a pair of g-star jeans and i guarantee you will be able to see and feel a difference !!0
