Hi, My elderly Dad has been in hospital for 5 weeks. Despite being 84, he’s always been PC savvy and all his accounts and bills are online. A letter of instruction taken to a bank by a 3rd party, even if that 3rd party furnishes proof that they are the son of the account holder, is highly unlikely to result in the 3rd party getting access to the account.
