This can be found on the Lebara uk website with a bit of digging and could explain why some are having roaming issues

    Important bits to know

    • This scheme is designed for customers who primarily live in the UK and make short trips to other European destinations. To safeguard against abuse, if your roaming usage is greater than your usage in the UK over any continuous 120-day period, you will be subject to a surcharge of 0.20p/MB (equivalent to £2/GB) for data, 0.04p/sec (equivalent to 2.4p/min) for outgoing calls, 0.01p/sec (equivalent to 0.6p/min) for incoming calls and 0.8p for sending an SMS. The surcharge is deducted from your pay-as-you-go (PAYG) allowance. You will need to top-up if you don't have any pay-as-you-go (PAYG) credit on your account.

i have been really disappointed with my roaming in Europe. It was spotty in Spain and practically non existent in Italy (Naples specifically). Not fit for purpose.
  • Haven’t read all comment but I’ve just got back from 2weeks in France and no roaming or phone calls , contacted the help line 4 times then rang when I got back , still saying I can get roaming. Well I’m going back in a month and if I don’t get roaming then I’ll be changing providers , look out Lebara

There's certainly no general issue with Lebara for roaming, I've used mine many times in France, Belgium, Germany and Spain without problem so it would suggest it's an issue with your phone or SIM setup.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Have you adjusted your phone settings to allow roaming? It's set to off by default and should be set up before leaving the UK

Just in case it's helpful to anyone. My daughter had edge only on Lebara whilst roaming. She has an iPhone 13. Turns out there is an additional setting in the APN which is "lte setting optional" . We added in the APN address, username and pw, rebooted and now she has 4g coverage.

Ok, I can confirm that Lebara DO HAVE serious issues with EU free roaming. Just came back from Ireland - everything was fine. Now landed in Czech Republic. Calls work fine. Internet on E (edge) only, which basically meens you get no Internet. Lebara support giving polite bs as described by others. Also sure they are fully aware of this scam as I was issued refunds when not even asking for them. I did same areas with lyca, voxi networks and had no issues. Therefore avoid this operator and such sites as MSE who will advertise anything as long as they get commission
