Snap, I did wonder if it's a way to get out of giving out the swag-ups.

Same here, this morning and with points refunded and Swagup, albeit only 50SB gone.  >:)

Edit. Raised a ticket now asking for reinstating the Swagup. Not much hope it will work.

Being still only one-third of the way to my next £100, and not wishing to lose my Swagup, I just opted for a £3 Amazon card.  I hope they get this sorted out before I reach my £100! As far as I remember, I had to verify my mobile some time ago because the Swagbucks app stopped working for me - but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't insist on it again it if suited them!

Well, that £3 Amazon card, which was instant redemption, now has a load of hoops to jump through.  First, when you click on the e-mail announcing the card, you have to ensure that you are logged in to Swagbucks;  then it takes you to the My Rewards page, where you have to click on a link for the reward, puzzling as you do as to why there is a code underneath it;  then you have to enter that code, going back to the previous page to copy it first; then it sends a four-digit code to your e-mail address;  then you have to enter that code;  then (assuming you haven't died of old age in the meantime) you are finally allowed to see your Amazon gift card code and copy it for entry into the relevant Amazon page.  It looks as though they have a whole new system, which no doubt they will claim is for our benefit because of increased security, but in fact appears just to be putting obstacles in the way of anybody trying to claim the money to which they are entitled.
  • I remember having this issue once, about 4-5 months ago. Not had it since, it was a pain even though it was only for £5.
  • @MollyR, have had to do this on my last four £3 Swagup Amazon vouchers and on my last £100 voucher, hence my nervousness last time  :|

My last cash-in was on 11th September, for £100 to Paypal, which went through without problems and only a very few days' wait.  It sounds as though they have changed things since then.  They do like to make things difficult for the very people who earn them money!
  • When we cash out through Paypal, they've already got all sorts of verifications.
My Paypal account is verified (by Paypal) and linked to a bank account in the same name,
and to cash out to Paypal, Swagbucks required that the name on my Swagbucks account was the same as the name on my  PayPal account (and therefore the same as the name on my bank account) and that the email address on my Swagbucks account is also attached to my Paypal account.

I'm actually shocked that Swagbucks can find out the name on my Paypal account, but evidently they can.

I would not be keen to make a payment through Paypal if the payee's account name was not the same as I had been expecting.

Paypal accounts are linked to email accounts, and if Swagbucks sends money to a Paypal account with the same email address as a Swagbucks account, they have no need to know the actual name on the account.
They know the email address with metaphysical certainty.
