Sourcrates reply above was in relation to the proof of address.Another definite vote for keeping questions in the same thread so far as possible - it’s hugely frustrating when people have multiple threads all dealing with essentially the same situation not least as it frequently means very similar reply’s being given on many threads. It can also lead to confusion when those responding can’t “see” the full picture.
As for the BBL, because it’s business related not personal it will as said above not be treated the same - and you also said that you wanted to keep the business stuff separate anyway?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I don't know the answer categorically but I don't see why Starling would care about a debt you have with a different banking group. It's not as if they're going to be offering you credit.
That said though, why aren't they accepting your proof of address?
The alternative is to choose a basic bank account from a different provider who *will* accept your proof of address. You don't have to go with Starling.2 -

Not 100%I tend to keep my business stuff in a separate account, that’s all.0 -
you did state you had credit cards, use their statements as proof of address. is the address on the credit card bills the same as the address you live at now
what exactly do you have at your current address as a form of proof of address.
here is a link to what NatWest bank need, how many forms of proof could you provide to satisfy them for example

mobile phone contracts aren't suitable, water bills, council tax bills, voters roll are.
I'm glad you now sent off the right proof and it should be fine

Wow, what does this mean? I can’t have another account at the same time?I confirm I am eligible for a basic bank account. I am aware no borrowing facilities are available with this account and agree if I currently hold a bank (payment) account with another UK provider I will not continue to do so.0
