I fear you're being too optimistic.
I agree.
A key point is that the dealer is offering a full refund. Neither the courts nor the finance company will intervene to give you more than that. There is no obligation in law for anybody to search and find you a better deal from someone else.1 -

I never knew that if you buy a car on straight forward finance they are responsible for sorting any issues with the car so that's something for people to be aware of if they didn't already know. Fingers crossed this gets sorted asap.
They did offer to take the car back and give a full refund but we could not accept this because we can only drive an automatic and need a 7 seater and they are rarer than hen’s teeth
As finance co will reject as a full refund was offered, which is as per consumer rights.
The fact that they are hard to find is, I'm afraid not their issue.Life in the slow lane1
