Morning All
Similar temperatures here Gers, I've just been for a walk with a friend and their dog, it was -3 and properly foggy, I had no idea where I was going! We were on the golf course which is quite hilly so could easily have got lost.
Lovely baby news TA, hope you get to see the little one soon.
Ouch to Mr taff, glad you're feeling a bit better taff, look after yourself.
Hugs to anyone else not feeling so good.
Must go shopping this morning ready for the week ahead - back to work tomorrow. I really only need fresh fruit and veg and perhaps a carton of soy milk so may walk as it'll take ages to defrost the car.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX

Didn't get much done, spent most of the day looking for this year's calendar, thought I put it in the desk drawer but it's nowhere to be found. My memory is non existent.I suppose when I've bought another one I'll find it.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Afternoon everyone
Very frosty here this morning too, it was quite slippy walking down the hill to my mam and dads. Lovely blue sky and sunshine though.
Eldest DD had sent her Grandad an email from Norway so I wrote his reply for him...it fascinates him that his emails know where she is if she isn't at home. He always waves out the window when I press send - bless him.
She flies home this afternoon and then she's back to work tomorrow.
I've prepared vegetables to make cauliflower cheese and roasted veg for tea and plan on having a quiet afternoon with my Sunday Times. Still a few bits to tidy away from Christmas so I'll do that too.
TA - nice to see your good news, I hope you meet her for a cuddle soon.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
It's lovely to read some good news here, new babies especially. And birthdays.I made it out of bed eventually. The weak though bright sun came out to melt the frost but it's still very cold, barely above freezing. Once I'd been out to collect some logs from the big barn I decided finally to not do any shopping. The DW has been filled and turned on. I've taken the first two of the ABs (two today and then one a day for the next four), finished off the pot of M&S custard which I found at the back of the fridge and tidied up ready for the cleaner tomorrow.DP1 - what a gorgeous image of your DDad you gave us, thanks.9

Wet, windy and cold when we went to Church.
Mr F and I took in the M & S food waste delivery last night - lots of food to give away to folk after the service.
Heating is on at 19 but may have to go up.

Late to post today and it's dark already though nice to see some sunshine even though it's cold.
Sorry nothing interesting to report today - feel like I'm in a fog as I'm tired.
Will be back with more drivel no doubt tomorrow

Gers - you're welcome.
In a lot of ways he sees the wonder and excitement in things in exactly the same way as little one does - and she is really lovely with him. He got a bit grumpy one day when she was excited because she only had one more sleep then it would be her birthday, because he wanted it to be his birthday first (his is in March) - the next day, her birthday, she gave him a big hug and a kiss and said ' don't worry great-grandad your birthday is the next one.'
Has anyone got any soup recipes I can try? Taff gave me some tips the other day - not so much of everything chucked in the pan! I have carrots, potatoes, swede, a leek and lentils.9 -
Good afternoon
TA - lovely news on the baby, hope you manage a cuddle soon. Sorry I must have missed your post about your DB, sending hugs your way.
Gers - glad you’re feeling better.
Taff/Nanny - my house looks a mess too, today took the baubles off the tree. Hope you both feel better soon.Managed to get antibiotics from dr on 111. Picked up this morning so hopefully will get rid of the cough, appear to have bruised ribs or pulled muscles - very sore.My neighbour brought a roast dinner round for Ds2 as they clean one of the local pubs and they get given 3 free lunches to take home. They then knocked later with another Yorkshire pudding and Roast Beef for me so made some gravy & tenderstem broccoli, managed to eat some of it. The dog enjoyed the leftover Roast Beef.
Hoping to change my bed today & will put the dishwasher on.Take Care one and all.9 -

i would do a leek and potato one, chop and fry some onions add the leeks and fry off for a while, then add your potatoes and fry for a couple of mins while stirring all the time, then add your stock dissolved in hot water and simmer till the potatoes are soft then wizz the soup up and add salt and pepper to taste.
You could also do a carrot and coriander same basic recipe fry onions add carrots coriander then stock salt and pepper.
I personally would not use the swede in soup as it may be a bit flavourless.
The lentils I would do a red pepper and lentil soup, same technique as above xxx7
