They re not bad being 11 % rise on electric and 8 % on gas, so I m happy as we will all still be on the cheapest posssible available rates most of the time in the UK if we carry on like last year with not one day over Flexible rates.Aren't the changes a fixed value, so not a straightforward %?In my region it was:South England
Electricity unit charge: (W * 1.1846) + 7.3355 p per kWh
Gas unit charge: (W * 0.03604) + 1.3144 p per kWhAnd is / will be:South England
Electricity unit charge: (W * 1.1846) + 9.7767 p per kWh
Gas unit charge: (W * 0.03604) + 1.4978 p per kWhSo the wholesale multiplier hasn't changed, but electricity is ~2.44p/kWh more expensive, and gas ~0.18p/kWh.You can't calculate a meaningful % increase without assuming a wholesale price.N. Gas vs E7 vs peak elec heating costs, Best kettle!

I struggle with the difference now though as the gap is greater between areas on the new formula. Surely it's not costing Octopus 4p difference between Yorkshire and London per kWh or is it? (Perhaps someone more learned than myself can explain that one)0 -

As an example
London today Nov 2022 v1 17.45p
London today Dec 2023 v1 21.36p
I think that's something in the region of 22.5% increase?
I haven't checked all regions but that one stood out.
Just checked the following
East of England appears to be a 18.75% increase 17.89 compared to 21.24p
I don't know about gas as we don't have it but I suggest people check their regions as we have found those with the highest increases on the new formula may mean Agile (without any load shifting) is infact cheaper than Tracker December 2023 v1 as Agile is still on its original formula.
Gastracker.uk is easy to use to see the difference in prices and regions and versions.
I accept my calculations may be wrong it is after all cheese and wine time.
Nov 22 today is 4.48 gas
Dec 23 is 4.86 ..= 8.4 % rise and electrics is 17.58 p nov 22 . 19.68 p Dec 23 = 11.94 5% rise0 -
Today, Tracker Dec 2023 v1 London NW10 - 21.43p kWh Yorkshire LS10 19.58p kWh
Standing Charge London 36.53p day Yorkshire 53.95p day
Flexible London 29.73 p/kWh Yorkshire 27.79 p/kWh
Reason for bigger London tracker version kWh increase, London tracker previously had cheapest SC as well as one of the cheapest kWh rates, current tracker version London kWh rate more in line with flexible regional differential.0 -
I've never had an end date, and still don't. (Nov 2022 v1 for gas and electric.)
Joined tracker on 25 Jan 2023, so I thought I might have had an email* about what happens at the anniversary of joining it, even though I had no end date.
* Especially with them changing the formula for new joiners, and info that it'll change for everyone at some point.
So I shall sit and wait. I'm happy to stay on that version.2 -
If you do have an 'end date', where does it appear.
I joined tracker early December last year.
I've looked all over the App and the Website and I don't see a date anywhere.0 -
