Just so everyone is aware that we had an end date and ours was removed in the last week. Initially we had until May set as our fixed end date.

I presume this is to get all tracker tariffs ready for the new formula and shift us all as one onto the new rates soon.

I am not sure how I feel about this but if we are all in the same boat then so be it.

I've noticed my v3 Tracker used to say "fixed term ending" followed by the date, it now says "Ending" followed by the date.
Suspicious, that the fixed term wording has been removed.

I didn't have an end date on my latest gas tracker, and thought I was missing out!

  • It does appear to be hit and miss as to whether you were given an end date or not for either electricity or gas tracker Nov 2022 v1.

No fixed end date on our electricity tracker but a neighbour that we put forward on a referral and joined two weeks later than us has a fixed end date. I will see if they still do when we have a chat later.

My end date has vanished too. This must have been in the last 6 weeks or so.

We only have electric but the fixed end date has disappeared from that.

Interesting that you gas has one, take a screenshot maybe?

I guess it depends on the appetite for people who have had a fixed date and whether they message Octopus to honour that?

    I am considering that option.

This is from the app but if I look online it says "ending" rather than fixed term ends.

It would be very unfair unless we all went on the rates which I believe will be same as Dec 23.
They re not bad being 11 % rise on electric and 8 % on gas over my Nov 22 v1 rates , so I m happy as we will all still be on the cheapest possible available rates most of the time in the UK if we carry on  like last year with not one day over Flexible rates.

Sadly it's not 11% for all regions for electricity have you checked yours?

    As an example

    London today Nov 2022 v1 17.45p
    London today Dec 2023 v1 21.36p

I think that's something in the region of 22.5% increase?

I haven't checked all regions but that one stood out.

    Just checked the following

East of England appears to be a 18.75% increase 17.89 compared to 21.24p

I don't know about gas as we don't have it but I suggest people check their regions as we have found those with the highest increases on the new formula may mean Agile (without any load shifting) is infact cheaper than Tracker December 2023 v1 as Agile is still on its original formula.

Gastracker.uk is easy to use to see the difference in prices and regions and versions.

I accept my calculations may be wrong it is after all cheese and wine time.

Someone checked Dec 23 against Nov22 and said it was 12 % electric and 9 % gas of the two figures I produced . I am in one of the cheaper regions of Yorkshire .Octopus said it would an average of 11% and 8% gas .Your figure are way over those . I ll do a few of my own .Wine time for me too so I will  check tomorrow .
Nov 22 today is 4.48 gas
    Dec 23 is 4.86 ..= 8.4  %  rise  and electrics is 17.58 p nov 22 .  19.68  p Dec 23 = 11.94 5% rise
