Horizon Parking Charge Notice - Need Help please

Options
Hi all, this is a little bit complicated and I am very much a newbie so would appreciate any help that you can throw my way.

We booked parking in advance of arrival at a Horizon car park. We use this car park regularly and always book on the app. We were surprised to find that we had a fine but when we checked we had selected the wrong car park.

I have not responded yet but I obviously want to appeal. It seems that they won't let you speak to anyone and explain so I am reaching out for help. Thank you all in advance.

    It is not a fine.

Plan A is always for the keeper to complain to the landowner and the keeper's MP, without blabbing about the driver's identity.

Plan B is to appeal using the template in blue text you will find in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES, sent unaltered from the keeper.

Get photos of the site and signage in case you need to enact Plan C, a PoPLA appeal.

It's not complicated because it's Horizon and they don't use the POFA.  The NEWBIES thread explains why that means the keeper wins.  This is such a simple one.

And this thread already tells everyone about Horizon not being able to hold a keeper liable, due to their choice of words:

THANK GOODNESS YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO 'SPEAK TO SOMEONE TO EXPLAIN' (and by doing so, chat about who was driving - eeeek - and bin your win as registered keeper)!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Do as @Coupon-Mad says. For heaven’s sake don’t try to speak to these scammers on the phone.  Lodge the usual appeal and get it cancelled in the usual way.
