Galaxy A54 won't download and play music files

How do I get my Galaxy A54 to play music files?

I belong to some music groups on Facebook and when I click on, for example, a post with a .wav file nothing happens.  Other people can just click the icon and it plays.

I can get them to play on my laptop, but I usually use Facebook on my phone so it would be more convenient if I could find which settings I need to adjust.

I downloaded Music Player for Android, and I also have Spotify.

Do you mean that you are downloading music files from Facebook in WAV format and you are unable to open them? If so, what error messages are popping up?

Or are you clicking on a link and it will not play? If it's this and as above, are there any error messages which pop up and what does it say? If this is the issue what browser are you using?

Reverstine58, I click the link and nothing happens, except the icon flickers to show that I've clicked. There are no error messages.

I then check my downloads folder, but the file has not gone in there. I'm at a loss about what to do next.

Would it be possible to post a link to one of the tunes on Facebook you're trying to play so I can try it?
I also have a 2023 Samsung phone so I could test it on mine.

I've posted a link to the public group. I can't post a link to any .wav file, as nothing happens when I click them. You'll need to search for any of the .wav files. As an aside, I have the same issue with .pdf files, but I wanted to keep my question here simple and deal with one thing at a time.

There's quite the collection there!

There are lots of videos posted along with links to YouTube and other external sites. However I have no means of determining which posts contain WAV files so perhaps you could guide me by giving the name of a user who has posted such a file and advise which of their posts I'm looking for?

With that page open in Chrome on my A54, if i click on africa-toto.wav the Chrome music player opens and plays the track. No files are downloaded.

Does that work on your phone?

If so then the issue is Facebook-specific.

I hardly ever use Facebook so others will know far more than me but there are a bunch of settings in the FB app under Preferences/Media you could try changing.

Thanks, but I don't use the FB app. I use the Samsung inbuilt browser, and have already looked at these but can't see anything that might be relevant.
