Beanie it really has been and horrendous stomach cramps keep stopping me in my tracks! Ugh.

Anyway we have a SSTC on the house we're buying! Yay! It's off the market!! Very excited...they were cutting it a bit fine being done for the weekend but it's done 😀👏...not much else we need to do now aside from wait. Our solicitors will start searches and we've signed everything we need to, for now.

Oo I hear kids back ....best be off.
    Such great news 🤩

You are doing so well raising the money and decluttering.
Free wood is a huge help, providing DP does organise it.

Congratulations getting confirmation of SSTC, here's to a relaxing weekend.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Thanks all 😃
I have had a nice weekend. I wasn't very well on Friday and ended up having a super early night. Saturday I felt a little better and not wanting to let DP or my sister and her partner down I got up and got my glad rags on and was designated driver (which was good for my poorly tummy!) and we had great fun out. It was great to celebrate with BIL for his birthday the other day and I found it fascinating being the only one sober 😂 I have never ever done that before I've always managed to dodge being driver 🤣. But I actually enjoyed myself more and wasn't ill today so, yay! We spent so much money that was not budgeted for though. Rounds of drinks are not cheap any more. And neither is the emergency food after drinking because you're starving 🤣.
Oh well, we don't do it often but let's just say I envisage a lot of NSD next week.

I made a bit of a mess up on my online ordering. So I use subscribe and save for crisps. They're cheaper on there than Mr T. However, they don't always have them in stock, like last time I ordered two weeks ago ...so I found another supplier and had ordered from them on there. However that supplier also was out of stock last week. So I ordered from Mr T instead.
Anyhow skip forward to today, two boxes of crisps turn up on my Mr T shop. Then I get notifications (4 of them) that amaz on are delivering packages today......FOUR more boxes of crisps. I have two just arrived, to go with the two that were here this morning with Mr T shop. And two more are arriving tomorrow....I will have SIX boxes of crisps 🤣🤣🤣....all after that previous conversation on here of too much broccoli I now have too many crisps! Oh well.....I suppose they will get eaten so not a hardship to anyone but perhaps a mess up with the budget now 😆 I couldn't help but laugh though it was pretty funny. But good reminder to go through subscriptions every week 🤣

Had another sale on v1nted but again nothing for our budget as it was DD stuff that sold so once I receive funds I will transfer over to her.

Not much else to report although I did get a NSD today. - one of many until pay day I think!

No house move news as it is weekend and nothing has been done. We believe the MOS has been sent to our solicitors so now they can get moving with searches and bits. We'll hear tomorrow I guess.  Also hopefully hear back that the valuation report came back ok for our buyers. ☺️

Thank you Hotdog  and yep I am still laughing a little at the crisps situation. I have two boxes out for delivery now :joy: then hopefully that is it lol! Until payday...

So this morning we have sold a few bits, had a biggish payout on survey sites and £75+ (a few pennies over I think) has winged it's way to my EF/ HM fund once added together  It is currently at £2616 (and a few pennies!) only a little over a grand to find now.

A bit of mixed news financially this morning though, DP has had a notification from the CMS as his DD turned 18 the other day. He has had a pay rise over the last year so the amount he has to pay has increased by over double  I think we may struggle with finding that amount...it sounds like it is almost £500 a month (he needs to ring them but can't seem to get hold of them) figures were confusing as there is some arrears in there for some reason even though we pay on time every month? There was one month where payday to his ex fell on a BH though and it was one day late going...I think she may have reported it as a non payment *rolls eyes*  Not sure and trying not to get knikers in a twist till we know for sure what the figure is and where the land lays with it all. My CM should be reviewed next month and I hope they take into account that my ex never seems to have them any more and also his promotion. They were not interested when I told them before and asked for a review....so you never know the two might equal out and we will be no better off but no worse off. His DD is expected to leave education soon anyway so I think he is worrying for nothing.

DD is on her last week of school! She is very excited! She has exams all week though. She spent all day Saturday in a revision session. I hope she's done well as she has really tried so hard. After she has finished at school we have a dentist appointment for her next week where they will finally tell her whether she gets a free brace or not. Then she has some induction/ taster days at her new school (all going well with the results day) and then her prom. Both kids are off to their dad's house end of the month to see a band playing in London. Should be a nice day out for them...I really need to check the dates though as both kids have trial days at the new school at different times and I hope it doesn't clash with their plans to go to London. I am tempted to book a trip to London myself....my only remaining Nan is very sick apparently. I haven't been down there since the last funeral which was a few years ago. I avoid London at all costs for the most part these days :grimace: but my sister said she really didn't look good when they were down there last week...

I will get back to looking at starting on the decluttering/ packing away of the garage this week I think. AND if we have a dry day (has rained on and off since last night so far) digging up some tulips and other bulbs I have planted. They didn't do very well this year because of the rain so I am hoping the bulbs are okay and not turned to mush as this has happened to me before. I will dry them out if I can get them up in one piece and take to the new house.

Not much else to report today, another NSD though I will have to go back and check to see how many I have now. Not nearly enough after our overspends at the weekend  oops but perhaps I can still pull it back!

  • I can't actually work out how many NSD's I've had this month after scanning back several pages but I believe it is at 8...so we will go with that! It is 15 days till payday and money is very tight already :grimace: many overspends as we were getting last minute bits done for the house to go up for sale etc - wow thinking about it in one short month, we listed the house, sold sstc, have started solicitors balls rolling and had offer accepted on our new house.....no wonder I feel like my head is spinning.
It is also no wonder I have no money left really as we overspent on silly things last minute getting house ready. Nevermind, it is done now and that's all that matters, perhaps next month might be a bit easier, although I still need to find money for removals so maybe not  maybe by September I will get that quiet month money wise I am craving........

If it’s any consolation I too have overspent this month and I have no excuses.

I too have overspent I am hoping it will all sort itself out in the end.
  • Morning all!

You all make me feel a little better now  we can be frugal together till the next budget month starts
DP sold something from his side hustle last night and I cashed out another fiver on surveys. So another £55 to the pot.

We now have enough to pay for the conveyancing fees :innocent::smiley:

And I have enough to probably hire a van out at the moment for removals  so I will carry on working towards adding to that so we can perhaps hire a man to go with it...and see if we can work our way up to a proper grown up removals company with men plural  At least I know at the very least the basics are covered so I can be happy with that progress! We have added over £700 back into the EF/ HM fund this month!! Had we not bought those windows that had blown we would be looking at having enough money for the man with the van right now  but hey ho.

We seriously are running low on stuff to sell though now  and weirdly enough I still have an entire house FULL of stuff :hushed: I was expecting it to look bare by this point, but that just confirms to me that we really did have too much stuff before.

Today's jobs around the house are catching up on washing piles. It is all clean mostly but waiting to be sorted, ironed, hung, folded....whatever. I hate this job so much so I leave it for days until I can't be bothered looking at it any more.

DP rang CMS last night. After 40 minutes on hold they hung up because they had closed. How is anyone supposed to ring them after their job finishes for the day when they close so early? He will try again today whilst in the car as he has a long drive ahead of him. Pretty annoying though. We only wanted clarification on a few questions which we cannot get online and all they kept saying was, go online.

We messaged the seller of our new house yesterday and he had turned down loads of properties he saw at the weekend, the renovations were too much and he didn't want that big of a job. DP asked him what his budget was and size of house he's after etc, the two of them sat messaging each other houses across from RM for hours  he is off to see a few more today, I hope he finds something he loves as he is a nice guy. His main requirements made me laugh as it is something my DP would be after.........garage. That was it. A woman's wish list is, big kitchen, nice sized bedrooms, nice size garden and quiet road, blah blah (whatever your requirements are but I am certain they are more than one thing on a list) and men's requirements usually have zero to do with the actual house but rather an outbuilding of some sort

Weather looks horrible AGAIN. I am getting fed up with it. Where is summer :disappointed: I need some vitamin D that doesn't come out of a tub.

It will be a NSD again I need nothing and I have no money to buy it so that works out well

Whilst I am doing the ironing I might go back through my wardrobe and sell a few more items. I noticed the other day when I was getting ready to go out that lots of things I tried on I didn't actually like on me any more. My skin has changed a lot since menopause started and things that looked good before now make me look like mutton dressed as lamb (sorry  but it is true) and I think they will sit in my wardrobe forever more really without getting picked. I've put on around 3 stone since menopause, I used to be a size 8-10 and now a comfortable size 12 with a few flabby bits

Most are thrifted items anyway as I don't ever spend much on clothes so I am happy to let them have a new home and be loved again  I notice I go for things that cover my bingo wings arms these days rather than strappy tops and I also don't really like short skirts on me any more I prefer them just above the knee or maxi. So I think it would be not only good to have a declutter in there but it also makes space for me to find a style that does suit me, does make me feel good wearing it and is comfy. I quite like it when I have realisations like this as it may get me out of my rut of wearing jeans and tops all the time if I can find other items that look and feel good. I did have a mini sort out before which was a good start but as most women reading this will know....we can hold on to shoes and bags that are older than our children.......so......yeh I have a fair few more items to go through I think

I made falafels yesterday. Found a very simple recipe online and I use my food processor to mix it and my air fryer to cook them and store them for a week (if they last that long) one tin of chickpeas (I cook from dried now so just weighed out the same amount) and half an onion diced. Mix it/ blend it together with 2 tbls of plain flour. I found a falafel spice mix in an Asian SM which I use but you can just make it up yourself, a pinch of coriander or two. Mix again. Divide into little balls, freeze for 20 mins, airfry for 12 minutes, cool and store. It saves me £5 on ready made ones and honestly doesn't taste much different and has none of the extra filler ingredients a shop bought one would. We have one or two in a toasted sandwich each day with guacamole and salad and it's yummy!

Right I am going to stick some music on, and get on with the dreaded ironing and putting clothes away ..........
