  • I've hung the washing out. It has clouded over *grr* but still dry for the moment so hopefully the washing will blow around and dry. I have scrubbed the kitchen clean and the minute I sat down with some banana bread, tea and to admire my efforts DD & her friend came in to make toast dropping crumbs everywhere  is it just my kids and partner that do this? I am sure they wait until I have finished cleaning to make another mess.

I am feeling okay so I will crack on with the DIY in a bit, I have done as much cleaning as I needed to and might do some more hoovering in a bit (beige carpets ugh). My sister said she may come over to visit me tomorrow, she never goes anywhere out of the city, especially not to see me, it is usually my job to go visit everyone (hence why hardly anyone speaks to me any more since I stopped putting all the effort in). I was a bit shocked and so feel now I need to finish cleaning the house. She hasn't seen it since before the carpet went in- over a year ago :joy: we have finished decorating all rooms and the new bathroom is in and nearly the small toilet room too is finished. So I will  have an almost completed house to show her around

I have left a voicemail trying to cancel my hairdresser appointment, I have tried to pop in twice whilst in town but both times she was shut. I don't need it doing yet and would rather hold back the money. It can go towards that chiro appointment instead- and I have another booked in two weeks so need it for that.

I have a bag of stuff for charity in my conservatory / boot room  I would like it gone asap, I went through it and nothing really worth the effort to sell so I won't bother. I listed an old kettle (well new ish actually that is why I thought it would sell) I have had 8 messages, three agreeing to collect and no shows. One just ghosted me and the others were *is this still available* when I say yes, well, tumbleweed......... I really need to assess whether this is worth my time for a couple of quid :joy: MS part of me says yes so I carry on. lol

I haven't had ANY pr0l1fic surveys offered to me in a week since I turned one down? Are they sulking because I said no to one with me needing to use a microphone? Before this i was offered lots. Was hoping to make another tenner over surveys before payday .... I signed up to another one this week called cur10us c@t. I have plenty of surveys but keep being kicked out after having wasted 10 minutes answering questions. You answer one how they don't like it and they kick you out .... I need a better side hustle

It is warm enough for the doors to be left open out to the back garden  I can hear the stream in the pond and the birds singing which is nice

    CB & survey sites:
I have £2.58 on JD (can't cash out till £10)
I have £0.60 on Pr0l1f1c (after I already cashed out this month so need another £5.40)
Panel 0p1nion £4.75 (not cashed out yet unsure what min. is..£10 I just checked)
CC is 360 life points I need another 190 for £5....
the other ones I gave up on as they weren't giving me anything or annoying me too much with screening me out.

Do you check for surveys or just wait to be invited by email?  I leave mine open all of the time and check regularly.  There are loads that go up daily.  I rarely wait to be invited

  • Have you tried matched betting or casinos? I made a few thousand £ doing that, using Martin's guide and also the guide sites like Oddsmonkey & TeamCasino. You pay a monthly subscription, about £15 but easily make it back. The New account offers give the biggest returns, so I no longer do it, but you can make a big chunk quickly. I just wouldn't recommend to anyone with an addictive personality as you have to stick to the instructions given.
Mortgage start date Nov 2014  - £90,545 over 25 years

  • Ah thanks @~FlowerPot~ & @beanielou I was coming to the same conclusion with that survey site....thanks for confirming 🤣
Hi @Bargainhunter30 thanks for popping in I didn't realise there was money to be made from betting. I've never really been one to bet before considering in the early days of mine and my exH relationship he would spend all his wages for the week on the slot machines in the pub on the way home 🙄 (remember those days when we were paid in a brown envelope with cash 😁) and left me and a baby at home with no money for food and electric meters....so it kinda put me off as it looked very addictive. I don't *think* it's in my nature to be that way so I will definitely have a look.

  • I'm posting on my phone and I noticed I can use all sorts of emojis on here and very little on the laptop 😲
Anyway I wanted to jump on here early as my sister is coming over in a few hours and I want to clean up. Well the house is technically clean but I don't know whether I've mentioned my annoyance at my choice of beige carpets enough 🙄🤣 but DP also will only wear black socks... And well, I hope that explains why I am obsessive over the hoovering of them so regularly. Also that is the loan we have left so until carpet belongs to us I will be most annoyed if they get ruined whilst I'm still paying for them 👀🤣.

So NSD I have failed at tracking them AGAIN. Ugh. So I have been over my bank account and diary (well budget planner/calendar) and I think I had one this week at least but I am not counting more than that as I know I had costs of the diy spread over the week..the extra wallpaper, the extra paint etc. So I will take one and also yesterday and added to the ones I did track on my calendar that is 6 so far! I should have 7 with today but we will see. I should be able to make it to 10 easily this month. Perhaps more.

I started doing an end of month tally and to see where we are with savings and budgets and start next month's projections but I didn't finish so will do that another day and come back with it ...next month is the first month without my wages!

And now...This is probably not for this diary but, I have a bit of anxiety about my sister and her family coming over....not really her, well a little bit, but her son more than anything. I recall the time I invited them to my last house as I was always going to theirs and I said you come to me, I will cook and entertain! She came over, her DS's both had a MCDs in hand when I'd already cooked a big pot of chilli and made salsa and salad and rice etc,.I was a bit disheartened but didn't mention it. Her son put his MCDs on a tiny shelf which was high up and had a tea light candle on....the bag set fire immediately. I was there and actually said 'don't do that!' but he looked at me and did it anyway then proceeded to laugh as it set fire, dropped to my new rug and burnt a hole in it... It was less than 48 hours old and I was a single mum and struggling...wasn't happy in fact I cried 🤣 and my sister said, and I quote, you should never have nice things when kids are growing up I think that proves my point...and she laughed too. I had to move furniture around to cover it until I moved four years later!

I've spent *a lot* of money on this house. Far more than I ever did on my last one, and it is twice the size and just generally nicer (still on a council estate which she will point out but ...) and I feel anxious about showing it off because she will be jealous, she hates her house, and her youngest son is like her and I don't even have DP to deflect the comments. It's probably why I've never insisted they visit before. Sorry this probably isn't the right place for a rant but DP is off collecting something from someone on FB again and won't be back until later so I've no one else to confide in ...🙈🤣

Right that's off my chest. I have put a flapjack in already. Hoping that is more palatable than the chilli they didn't fancy last time. I'm not doing them dinner. I refuse to because they just mock us all for eating rabbit food anyway 😊 (plant based) ...I'm hoping the weather brightens up because it's full and cloudy and looks like rain. I was thinking we could walk to town perhaps take them to the pub for a soft drink and the kids could play pool there isn't much else to do around here.

DS is due home today. DP will be home around 3 I think. And my sister and her family are coming between 12-5 which seems like an age. We usually meet up out of the homes in the city for a few hours out here or there. But we always have something to do for the kids. Me and her can sit and natter for hours but not when her DP is there or the kids as they're not interested in hearing what we talk about 🤣 (last long conversation we had was on our meal plans lol).

I will go get dressed, hoover (grr I really need to convince DP that white socks are better 🤣) and walk the dog. Then everything is done. I have various diy projects sitting on the dining table I might clear off too so there is two places for people to sit ..there and the lounge. I have a lovely bench in the dining room that I need to keep protected from my nephew... perhaps I should not bother moving the diy 🤭🤔 I will get something out the freezer for us to eat for dinner later as I'm getting close to the end of the month I will start eating down all the spare dinners I have cooked.
