  • We will get a take out this weekend as I won't be getting one for my birthday. I should have had enough to pay for it. I had plenty in my grocery fund but other funds had sadly run dry so I diverted a lot of the money away so our actual groceries spend this month was only £600 which I thought was fab for a family of four (and I've fed the occasional friend of the kids along the way) and taken outs included.

Holiday - hot, cheap, cheerful and enough to do for all the ages. I'm thinking probably Spain or something which I have done to death but the kids have never been so new for them and relatively cheap! We'll see though. I'll see what's about at the end of next month. Eventually I'd like to save for holidays on my bucket list but that is probably not things the kids want to do (I love architecture and love beautiful old cities and exploring ruins etc!)

  • Omg At my kids!!! I have just been in their rooms and have managed to get plates, glasses, mugs, and entire bin bag full of rubbish and four (!!!!!) loads of washing! This is what happens if I'm ill for a prolonged period. The house falls apart. First wash is in. I'll have to do as many as I can today and leave the rest for DP to sort while I'm at work tomorrow. Raaaaa at blooming teenagers.

However to balance the negativity exuding from this post now 😆😁 the CC payment has cleared

    I am CC free.

DP has paid off £700 this morning from his one (dental work) and the C loan has cleared too so £100 paid off that too!

Over a grand gone like that on debt 🥲 however only £320 out of our actual pockets thanks to FB sale and dental plan.

I am debating an hourly countdown to paying the C-loan off 🤔😉😅.....

  • Omg again. I thought to myself I'll get the 'other' footstool down from DS room he has the smallest room and even though he said he wanted it no one sits on it and it's piled with clothes. So I went up to retrieve it to make space for him and bring down to in fill where I'd sold the other one. It's one with storage. He's filled it with DIRTY clothes. 😤 I have around five washes to do. The second one is currently on. I went to put the first into the TD and there was ANOTHER wash done in there. 🤣 I can only laugh now ....I should have done nothing today. Stayed in bed. Drank tea and read my book.
Instead I've mopped two floors of the house, hoovered everywhere and found too much washing. I did need to catch up though I've not had energy for much more than the basics for nearly a month now. So....at least it's done. I can see sparkling floors on DD and ds room now and all the halls and kitchen/ dining/ conservatory. I'm shattered though and think it's time for a snack and drink before I do the school run (as DD has two teeth being pulled out at 4!)....life of a mum eh.

So much washing - life of a mum is hard - have you thought about training them to start using the washing machine - not sure how old they are but certainly post a 10yr old could manage given how good they are at tech /tvs etc..
Well done on the CC pay off

Happy future birthday - hope you wake up tomorrow and have a lovely weekend
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • LWAP DS uses the machine already which is why I'm so baffled as to how the Washing has piled up so much. However I know he's not been feeling very well either lately so I will cut him some slack. DD put the washing on twice and managed to mess it up both times - delicates in a hot wash and a tiny wash on a super long soak and 60° I wonder if it was her attempt at messing up so I didn't ask again 🤣

  • DD had her teeth out 🥲🤢 cue me nearly passing out and vomiting at the same time. I don't do blood very well. I'm glad I am at work next Tuesday when two more teeth have to be removed.

    Guess what?!
My Friday has been changed!!! 🙌🏻👏🏻 I am so happy! I know the other group and although there's a few in there who are behavioural they are not ignorant and rude like the other group I'm usually with. In fact I saw them in the corridor last week and they asked if I could be with them 😁 so I really hope it's an improvement on my usual Friday! 👏🏻 Best (early) birthday present ever!

Not a NSD today I needed to buy some cheap painkillers for DD. £4.80 spends. All accounts still in the black which I'm happy about with only a few days till the new month (gotta love a February!)

  • the washing is endless in our house too.  The worst thing is on a Sunday after doing two days worth of washing when DD decides to refill the basket with her bedding.  It makes me want to cry. I feel like a live in a launderette.
