Cheapest IPad - new

whats the cheapest price for the iPad? Any website recommendations. Is it worth buying a new one now or wait a few months?

Which model? There are many.

Why buy the latest when you can buy last years model still new or even refurb?

And why does it have to be an iPad? Android tablets are equally as servicable, and cheaper.

If I wanted to buy something expensive like an iPad I would go to the Apple store.  If anything goes wrong with your iPad then it's easier to get the thing fixed if you bought it direct from Apple.

I never buy new Apple devices, no need.  Lots of quality refurbished ones out there for far less than new and they don't become unusable after a few years.

Cheapest price of the iPad is to buy a secondhand old model off eBay or equivalent. 

If that isn't suitable then more detail of what you are trying to achieve etc is helpful as price alone is rarely the best way to decide what to do. 

2023 was the first year since the iPad was launched that there were no new models released... its therefore anticipated that all the iPads will be refreshed this year and a rumoured larger iPad Pro coming out (though you mention cheap so probably not interested in that one)

You will find that pretty much everywhere (reputable) sells a new iPad for the same price. Sometimes certain discount cards can be used to get say 10% off, but otherwise you might as well buy it from Apple themselves or local shops such as Argos, Curry's, etc for convenience (don't agree to their extended warranties).

This time of year check out ebay/gumtree/FB marketplace, or check out refurbished options from the big retailers and Amazon. Lots of gifted iPads that are unwanted, so great time to get a deal.

Apple sell refurbished gear. You'd need to check the stock and they probably aren't as cheap as elsewhere, but you'd be hard pressed to tell them from new.

Apple is the only company that makes iPads, so you could equally say 'No company makes iPads as badly as Apple'.
