Want to leave EE early - know the charges, but any way to avoid them?
Options
My contract is up on April 2024. The service has been weirdly terrible in my part of London. Can't wait to leave.
I would just take the £70 hit and leave early
But is there any way to swerve these costs, arguing about poor service level? Or get bought out by a new provider somehow?
Long shot but thought i'd ask anyway!

Have you put on a complaint about the service.
If not then complain including brief details of what's happened, tell them that as resolution you want to leave early at no cost. (But do check that the service is better from another provider- you might find the reason is affecting other providers)
I don't think that contracts have been bought out for a while.2 -
Is it a SIM only contract or did it also come with a phone? If it came with a phone they'll likely either want it back or some additional contribution from you to cover the cost of the phone they gave you.
If SIM only you may have a better chance of being released early.2 -

Have you reported service problems? And over what timescale has the service been 'Weirdly terrible'? If there has been a noticeable drop in signal strength you might find them accommodating, if you just happen to live in a built-up area with lots of obstacles blocking the signal then less so. What does their signal strength tracker say for your postcode?2

Have you tried the sim in different phones? Anyone else have issues with signal strength? I would suggest making a nuisance of yourself, try out a different handset and if no improvement ask them to replace your sim and keep telling them there is a fault somewhere and the service is unusable. See what they can offer you.1
