Hi all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
I got up at 3am for the loo but otherwise feeling a bit better today. Have pain in my lower back/kidneys but not as much pain when I go now. 2 more sachets of meds to get through then hopefully it’ll be a lot better.
Have bought in breakfast, lunch and snacks today and won’t be spending a penny if I can help it apart from my bus fares. Dinner tonight is SW chicken curry with rice which DH will make a start on.
Belated happy 5th birthday to your DGD @dp1 – she is a little marvel xx
Hope all goes well at the dentist @WickedLady4 - I have a check-up later this month and always dread it!
Oh that makes sense if there are collection bins at SA @Florenceem – I thought folk were just leaving stuff in the doorway! You’re doing so well with your decluttering too.
Jealous of the crafting afternoon @AlwaysAllie – might pick mine up this evening if I have the energy
It’s a tricky one re: L&B @snoozer as of course it’s lovely to have them with you. Is there a timeframe for moving on? I can’t imagine anything worse than moving in with my parents so you’re obviously doing something right!!
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all the poorlies and those affected by the awful weather. Take care all.
Coxy

Morning all. Yesterday was pretty much all spent in the pursuit of antibiotics which finally came true at six o clock
Began at just before 8.30 with trying to phone for an appointment, that took an hour of constant redial, no appointments left, the pharmacist will phone, couple of hours later, the pharmacist phones, no sorry, you'll have to go to urgent care, you've got too many ailments ofr me to prescribe anything. OK, off to urgent care, we want to send you to a&e, no, don't send me to a&e, it's not an a or an e, it's just antibiotics and an inhaler please, well, how about a chest x-ray? well, why don't you do one of those after I've had a course of antibiotics? ok, we'll give you some antibitoics and an inhaler, woop woop...I'm sure they're more used to people going who need more cossetting....and despite what the above looks like, I'm not complaining about the length of time either, them's the breaks...I'm just complaining about the run around. Next time I'll just phone 111 and go straight to urgent care.
Anyway, after all that, there does seem to be a bit of movement on the chest, and oxygen levels have gone up a bit, I did eventually sleep better and I do intend to sit on the sofa and do nothing today, so all's wellUNfortunately though, during this my cousin messaged me to let me know that my last uncle had died, and there's no way we can go there for his funeral. It was unexpected too, he was ill at the end of last week, and then went suddenly.
Coxy, ouch, that's supper annoying and painful, let the drugs work quicker!! how's your dad doing? dp1, happy belated birthday to her! camelot, thank you for that happy lurgy thought 🥴 glad youre still having some nice time off...WL, good luck at the dentists and good shout at the larder. TA, good bargain hunting...snoozer, might be time to ask them? Or notRedcross, I don't think I've been in the greenhouse since October. I havent finished clearing the tomato pots yet, really should get on with that soon, the rhubarb is already sprouting. topsy, fingers crossed he and you can cope with the next ten months! at least this op worked! Izzy, I hope you've got some party streamers ready
Rosy, did your DH get his van sorted after? Did I miss that bit? Anyway, take care the poorly and the non poorly, the happy and the happily challenged [?] have a good 'un!

Morning all, just. My dry cough broke in the night so I was able to finally get some tidy sleep in the early hours of this morning and a lie in. Fingers crossed it doesn't return, it's frightening when you can't stop to even catch your breath. Mr Fix It is still sniffly though, thankfully his covid test was negative. I must ring Dad again tonight as he also went down with the lurgy.
Not much happening here today, just feeding the hamsters and changing the water in my flowers will have to do for today as we've no energy to take down the decorations yet. There is some lo steak pie in the freezer so we'll have that for tea and maybe throw in a couple of oven chips, there's been nothing wrong with our appetites, just don't have the will to cook it !
Take care all
nan xx

I'm still feeling pretty ropey today, was definitely improving by late yesterday but woke today feeling "off" & a bit dithery. Took my meds and 30m later was sick 😕 The ABs are a 4-day one-a-day type so am waiting for a GP to call back & tell me if I need another lot. I've called in sick again and am tucked up on the sofa with a blanket feeling sorry for myself.
Coxy hope you feel better soon.
Taff sorry for the loss of your uncle, did he live in Italy?
Izzy how many days? 😁

A very late one from me, again. The coughing goes on and on. Earlier today I thought that I had collapsed a lung again (happened back in 2020) but have now decided that the coughing has pulled a muscle. I even packed a hospital bag and had a long shower, just in case! Like Taff, I've been monitoring my oxygen levels and they are stable and within normal range. Now taken two paracetamol which have helped.I've had my lunch, drunk a load of water and now watching TV. The DW has been filled and then emptied so I've been a tiny bit productive. Not read back yet, sorry!

@-taff - glad you finally received some Anti-Bs but what a performance. Don’t understand why they’d want to send you to A&E during a doctors strike. Sorry about the loss of your uncle. Thanks for asking after Dad – he finished Chemo/RT last Friday and has an appointment tomorrow to see what’s what.
Get well soon @Floss x
Don’t back down @IzzyBee!
Sorry you’re still so poorly @Gers – do take care xx Does your neighbour still toot as he passes to check up on you?

Sorry to hear about so many being poorly - Mr F was speaking to a chap who works at our local hospital - A & E is heaving - lots of elderly with pneumonia - wonder if that is because they are scared to use their heating.
Took charity shop donations to town - nothing outside SA on our way there but - 2 bags had been left when we were walking home. Went in and sorted them plus others that had come in since I was there yesterday. While I was at SA someone came in for a food parcel - they were visiting a client as part of their job who had no food in the house and no money - I gave them the parcel and food out of our community freezer..
Mr F went down again to the charity shop with a bag of stuff.
I have changed my dental appointment as we are going to a memorial service on Saturday at SA.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
