Refund to 'old' John Lewis Partnership Card

A merchant has just made a refund to the original card I used to purchase some goods, unfortunately this was to my 'old' (HSBC) John Lewis Partnership Card that was automatically closed in November 2022.

Someone encountered the same issue last year and created this thread, but nothing was posted regarding resolution https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6437592/john-lewis-hsbc-failing-to-let-me-have-my-refund-from-my-old-credit-card

Has anyone else had a similar experience and can provide any guidance on whether it's JLFS or  HSBC to approach and whether a successful outcome was achieved?

It'll be HSBC - not John Lewis - they were only ever the 'name' on the card. I'd start by getting hold of HSBC - and then see if the refund has arrived, and then send it as a credit to your current account.

There are other threads where I provided the relevant contact number. I had no issues getting a refund credited to a bank account. That was some time ago, but I expect it's still going to be quite easy.
From the email sent out On October 2022:
If you are in credit, you will need to contact them on 0345 300 3833 to arrange a refund.
