Amazon have not said you have done anything. But they connect your account to someone else who has done something to cause them to close that account.

  • Also, I'd be careful with your wife's account - as that could easily be closed as being associated with you. I'm surprised they haven't already - if they are worried about you.
Not suggesting I agree - just the way they might work.

How do you pay for your Amazon purchases? If it's a debit card then how long have you had the bank account for that card? If it's a relatively recent account then there is a possibility that the bank has reallocated the account number to you (some banks do this, some don't) from somebody who previously used that number, and perhaps it's their dealings with Amazon that were problematic in the past.

Amazon would have no idea about account number from card details & these are not reused.

Another good thought, however, much like my retail platforms are quite loyal to my bank as well and have been with them at least seven or eight years.

If nothing else I’ve had the opportunity to vent my spleen, but have a terrier like quality in me just won’t let this go sadly. I wouldn’t care so much if they would just justify their actions. If there was a genuine case to call, I would hold my hands up, but the truth is, I’m just a dull, middle-aged man that recently bought an air fryer cookbook, and some grass seed from them!

Makes me wonder what would happen if upu bought digital content  e.g. films, what happens then?

    OP stated:
They do continue to provide access to previously "purchased" media via their website but if seems somewhat haphazard getting to it.

no explanation whatsoever.  After this experience I will continue to use my echo devices but I’ll never buy from them again!

thanks everyone for your support and I hope to reciprocate soon.
Same soet of answer you would get from a bank when you acc is suspended.
You will never get the reason, & they do not have to tell you.

Nice it's sorted, in such a speedy timeline given new year holidays 👍

In which case is it worth paying £108 per year, particularly if you can register the Echo devices to your wife's account? Alternatively sell them on Gumtree and buy into another system.

Although I use my Fire TV sticks, which on the whole work well, I have been far less impressed with a Fire Tablet and certainly wouldn't buy another and my experience with it would not encourage me to buy an Echo Show or similar.

For me having a few small deliveries a month, next day for free, tips the balance in favour but without that I'd look elsewhere particularly as it will soon cost extra not to have ads on Prime videos!
