If the high brake light (not legally required) is fitted it must work. The side brake lights MUST work or it will fail.0

(If half work it is a pass) If none work at all, or the single bulb doesn't work, then the tester can't be sure that it is connected, and should give it a pass.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Most MOT testers will put a new bulb in for you if that's the fail. My old garage did this every year on the number plate. It was a scam but I was happy to fork out an extra £10 if they passed it.
