Good afternoon everyone.
It's so dark ,wet and miserable, cold too. At least the dustbins and recycling have been emptied . It always cheers me up !
NSD but for 2 small. insurance DDs . Making a small lasagne using up veg that are sitting in bottom of fridge saying "eat us" 2 small oranges left too but will use them and the veg before I buy more tomorrow. I will also combine the bus trip with the library .
Nothing much happening here. Might tidy my towel/ bedding chest of drawers ( no linen or airing cupboard - very little storage in the flat and things have been left out after ironing .)
Hugs and good wishes to all those who are ill or sad or waiting for news. Silver , thinking of you and wishing you well .
I didn't sleep well last night as I was upset by something someone said to me. Stupid I know and no good was done by brooding . I was once years ago at work praised for dealing with a very angry and dangerous client. It was a scary situation but over quickly and I didn't have much choice but sometimes ordinary life takes just as much bravery to struggle through and its not always recognised how some people struggle with little support . But somehow we get through . Thinking of you all with caring responsibilities, illness or bereavement.
Best wishes everyone . Thank you for sharing all your inspiring thoughts and plans for 2024.

Afternoon everyone! sky is black wih heavy rainfall, the wind is doing its best to flatten eerything. I've just gone out to do the compost, came back in a bit frazzled and windswpet. I put the pork back on to cook a bit more with some wine, garlic and onions. I cooked it in the oven yesterday and it was really tough. Giving away about thirty hangers later on too, from a bin nothing site Im on. I still have the lurgy and am quite short of breath so a lot of sitting down for the rest of the day, I have done a covid test twice but not positive so just a really bad infection. I'll roast a little potimarron pumpkin later to go with the pork. And I might mosey on over to the presents that are yet to be wrapped...Ruby, hope you can find a good cleaner and carer for your mum. Must have been very scary for her [and you], hope you impressed on her to let you know next time something like that happens. SO, it is hard and daunting to face the furture without someone, you've been a carer for so long it's a shock when there's no one left to care for, so just be gentle to yourself, don't expect or throw yourself into too much at once, one day at a time etc...Maybe see if there are any grief groups local to you, the numbers should be anageable and it might help to share. Nanny, hope it's manageable new for you too today...take care all, especially the under the weather in whatever form and woop woop for the uplifted or happy...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

@dp1 - Several people I know have been experimenting with music from the forties in their work with alzheimer's patients. They say it works wonders. It seems the words to music are deeply embedded in our memories and can come out when we hear them again. It even happens with advertising jingles - I can remember the words of those from my childhood with no problem.4
