@daisy_1571 , you didn't spend the 1970s writing pony books by any chance? 😁
I wonder what Smiths did with all that paper in the lucky dip barrel? Shredded it to make pony bedding, possibly.

If only. I'd always imagined it would be a Palomino, although I'd have also accepted an Appaloosa

I well remember the cheesecloth era! And my friends were allowed hotpants…
I got through a lot of pony books and had a massive collection of toy horses.

I also got though a lot of pony books and so wanted to win the pony. I wonder if anyone actually won a pony? And what happened at the end of the year when WH Smiths stopped paying the bills? That would have been heart breaking. I know my parents could not have afforded the bills for sure. Probably would have saved me lots as an adult if they had.
Popped into the County Show again yesterday and had a lovely time sitting beside the main ring for a few hours with sandwiches from the vintage tea tent and a cheeky glass of English sparkling wine.
Back to the office grind today.

Days at the County Show sound very much like living the dream, @Watty1. 😊 Your lifetime membership was a great investment.

It really was. Funny thing is for years I thought about having a "members" ticket as a one off and always decided against it - but - then just deciding to go for a life membership was a big investment - but it was part of creating a life I really wanted. Which is the part of this stage now. Mindfully spending to create that life.

So much for mindful spending….I've just looked at my credit card. I need to have a think about this, clearly the last 6 weeks since having the heart issues things have got a bit out of control. My food bill for sure but also there are a lot of random amazon purchases which I'm not entirely sure I needed. I've also noticed VNM is just sticking things on the card too - and really they are tiny purchases so this isn't an issue I think the last 6 weeks have just been about quick fixes. Running out of xx and so quickly buying it on prime to just solve that issue.
A lot of this is also linked to the no energy part. I'm managing to work but that is just about it and we have as a couple been just patching up as we go. I'll review June spending later today.

Before I get to checking my spending obvs need to check the cowboy boots which have finally arrived. Apparently £260 in 2010 and never worn (very obviously this is the case) and they are gorgeous. Tighter than I expected and it took both me and VNM to get my feet into them and them zipped up but they will be lovely with dresses so great find. Really pleased Really will review spending now ….
