Luckily fireworks here were notified on our village FB group. My cats were a bit upset, but coped OK. Luckily they'd come in because they were hungry, so I locked the catflap. Not that they've shown any signs of wanting to go out.3

I was watching the local park fireworks from my window and they were magnificent - v loud though, at least not many animals and def no horses here luckily.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@Slinky thank you for that link. Filled in.
Only very distant ones last night so that was good. Charming Cob however waiting for vet. He isn't right, having not eaten overnight and decidedly depressed this morning which is unlike him. Reading on here to pass the time while I wait.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Charming Cob probably has a viral infection. He has been given a painkiller injection to help him feel better and bloods taken to check and see what else might be going on, if anything. Was a new to us vet and was a really jolly person. Very nice indeed.
I posted a screen on the course (as it is course day) to say I was "out of office" and why but made it back in to teach course in time. Charming cob seems to be feeling better as restless in his stable. Have to take his temperature again in a couple of hours then he can go back to the field. Course went well, glad I spent yesterday evening prepping it carefully though given vet dramas this morning.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I'm glad it's gone well, and he's feeling more like himself. It's nice when you click with the professionals who provide care.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Charming Cob says he is still feeling poorly and declined to go to the field this morning. Finally went out under duress much later and was found lying in the field mid afternoon which worried me. Bought him in, checked his temp and gave him some hay. I think he still feels a bit under the weather and his painkiller/anti inflammatory had worn off. All the blood tests are ok so I don't think this too serious.

Email finally sent to the insurance company to explain why I feel the offer is only a quarter of comparable car prices and so too low with evidence to support my reasoning. They did say they were open to "negotiation" if I could prove my point so have finally sent that in.
I don't hold out much hope but I'll just see what they come back with now. I would like it sorted by the time the weather turns.
The house looks great as the cleaner has been (minus the mess WattyDog has already made) and I have clean bedding. Off to check on the horses, shower and very early night!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
