The first thing you can do I’d suggest is to start using the immersion heater as though you WERE on E7 - so switch it on before you go to bed, and switch it off as soon as you get up. The second thing is to be sure that people are running hot water unnecessarily - for hand washing etc when in fact chances are the hot won’t even have reached the tap by the time they’ve turned it off again. Does that tank supply water for showers as well as other hot water, or do you have an electric shower?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

By switching the heaters off for most of the day you will be able to see if your electricity use decreases. If you want hot water in the morning, you'll need to heat the tank before you wake up. As you don't have a timer yet, the only way to do that is to switch the heater on before going to bed.Of course if you don't want hot water in the morning, you could leave it off all night and only switch it on for a couple of hours in the daytime.N.
