Good luck with the interview 🤞
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪1 -
Thank you, one and all! The interview is this afternoon and I don't think there's a great deal I can add to the preparation I've done: as is often the case, it will depend on the 'opposition'. It's occurred to me, though, that if I don't get through, it will give me a bit of freedom to explore other things. A few years ago I heard about the MIRT team (Major Incident Relief) which is voluntary but might work well with my background and reintroduce some adrenalin, and I liked the person I spoke to about it. I've not even enquired since but it shows me there are other things I could be involved in.
Right, back to work: progress on the SWOT papers hasn't been huge this morning but I want to rewrite what I have, condense it to one page and print out a copy for me and a copy for the interviewer(s). No idea if this is an individual or group interview - they don't seem to have thought to tell us that. I'm best at individual interviews but it will be what it will be.

A successful and satisfying day! I will have 15 hours a week from September, and I'm happy about that though it may mean much more travelling (and possibly Maths classes, though hopefully not straight away). It was an odd sort of interview, and though they said it wasn't actually an interview, I treated it as such. It was more as though they were doing an inventory of the team's skills. There were three people on the panel, including my former manager and manager to be - everyone is playing musical chairs in the restructure so they did explain their roles to me but I didn't really take that in. Then it was just a case of handing over a copy of the SWOT I'd done and talking them through it, and a bit of a Q and A at the end. Through this I understand that there are to be a lot more hours available for people in my role as that's been identified as a service need.
One interesting point was that I left an AI suggestion in the SWOT despite it being something I'd never have thought of for myself: mentoring peers in understanding neurodiversity. Then one of the panel picked up on it and seemed really keen, so I can see I'm going to have to check my facts in case I get asked!
I will have to see how it all pans out in real life but at present I'm happy about it.
I met DH for coffee afterwards (last of the gift token plus £4.10 spent) then we went to Asba for some groceries and to collect my milk frother, which turns out to be fun to use and makes good hot chocolate.
Tea was chicken and chorizo pasta, and I've picked about a pound and a half of blackberries from the garden. There are plenty more but it was getting dark by then. I've also listed a couple of items on V1nted as I really need to push on and tidy up the spare room.

That sounds like it went very well.
Intrigued by the thought of using a milk frother for hot chocolate. I do use the jersey gold milk though be interesting to see that frothed

I read somewhere that full cream milk froths better, so Jersey gold might just be optimal.

Today feels much more 'mine' than any day recently. DH has gone to work and I'm not due in till five, so I'm slowly working round the house doing bits and pieces of putting things away.
I've finally tried on all my car boot bargains and love them all, so that's £3 very well spent (two corduroy shirts, a cardigan, a branded tee shirt and a long sleeved tee, all good as new apart from a small mark on a shirt which came out easily). I'm also planning to list a bit more on V1nted - currently cleaning up some brass ornaments that are wonderfully tactile but are not something I'd choose for myself.
I'm also trying to adjust to grey skies and temperatures down to the teens!

Positive - as a buyer, I've twice had a message from the seller to say they can't find the item so they can't honour the sale (the system means I get to keep the money) and a couple of times I've thought the item was either slightly grubby or damaged - neither irreparably but it takes the edge off having something 'new'. As a seller, all has gone very well apart from that time when the locker computer died just after I'd posted the item. The buyer was very understanding and V1nted and the locker company were both helpful, and in the end the item was delivered, so all was well. However, I did learn that it's a good idea to take photo of the parcel and keep good records.
