Late on today; I had wine last night!
Ironing done and DH is now trying to persuade the printer to print out a postage label for a parcel we've paid for and want to send! No plans for this evening as we'll both be up and out fairly early in the morning for separate events. I have a walk and pub lunch with friends, but it's over an hour's drive and need to be there for 10.30am. DH will be Morris dancing at a pub in a different direction from 12 midday.
Many thanks to everyone for their posts and virtual friendships over the year and very best wishes to all for 2024.12 -

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?
(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
And surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
We twa hae run about the braes
And pu’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot
Sin auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl’d i’ the burn,
Frae mornin’ sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie’s a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right guid willy waught,
For auld lang syne.

Thank you all for your thoughts and sharing your lives during the year ,it has helped me so much

This is one of the first things I read every morning, even though I rarely post. I love reading about the minutiae of people’s daily lives - bit like the Mass Observation diaries! You are all so supportive and friendly, long May it continue. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2024 (I’m planning to be in bed with a good book well before midnight).Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.11

Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year and may the rest of the year be the same. And please ignore everything you hear about American politics just like those of us who live here are trying to do - they are all crazy as loons.8
